Quinta da Pavoa - Cottage House

Quinta da Pavoa - Cottage House - is a sustainable house build in the countryside. Made of wood from the island, cryptomeria, this house is integrated in a stealing with 3000m2 with a garden, fruit trees and a vegetable garden. The song of the birds is always present.
The house fulfills all your requirements: 2 bedrooms that can take up to 4 people and a large living room with kitchen that include all necessary equipment. Wi-Fi is free, and the TV includes a large range of channels.
The balcony with barbecue is a privileged space with an amazing sight to both the mountain, the sea and the small local village. In the balcony, our guests can enjoy the sunrise and the Islet "Islet" of Vila Franca do Campo, right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Our guests can enjoy the products of the biological fruits and vegetables from the garden, according to the season, and play with our friendly resident cats.
Located in south coast, in the middle of São Miguel island, Quinta da Pavoa - Cottage House - allows quick access to the whole island (you can reach anywhere in 30 minutes, by car), including the best beaches (some at 5 minutes, by car), Ponta Delgada city (25 Km) or Furnas (20 Km).

Beautiful house

Beautiful house and location with superb view over the land and sea. Beautiful porch outside where we stayed most of the time. Conveniently located to most of the interesting sightseeings of the island. Very friendly host.

Perfect spot for family vacation

Maria’s home is absolutely wonderful. My two kids both loved seeing all of the animals, and we could even see whales in the ocean from the porch. Clean property with all amenities provided, including parking and a washing machine. We stayed in two different locations when on our trip, and this property easily was the favorite. We would definitely try to stay again on a return trip. Grocery store and highway are convenient.

Privacy & quiet relaxation with excellent views

The property (garden included) is beautiful, clean, quiet, very private and has excellent views of the ocean. Well equipped kitchen, good wifi. The host is very helpful and responsive. Oh, and must love cats!

Excellent location and a very helpful host

The Quinta de Pavoa is excellently located to visit the whole island by car. It has a fantastic covered terrace with great views where you can sit out all day. It is totally private, and you do not hear the noise from the road behind when you sit on the terrace. Maria the host is most welcoming and helpful. She even managed to find us some binoculars as we mentioned on arrival that we had forgotten to bring ours. She also treated us to a prepared meal one evening that she left in the fridge for us mid-week. You do have to like cats though as there are plenty around and they will treat the terrace as their own!

Das ideale Feriendomizil

Für uns zwei Erwachsene und zwei Kinder war das Haus von Maria der ideale Ausgangspunkt, um die Insel zu entdecken. Durch die höhere Lage hat man einen traumhaften Blick aufs Meer, den wir immer beim Frühstück und Abends bei einem Glas Wein genossen haben. Auf dem großzügigen Grundstück lebt man mit vier Katzen und zwei Hunden alleine. Nachbarschaft sind ansonsten nur Felder und Weiden. Schon beim Ankommen in dem bestens ausgestatteten Haus fühlt man sich durch die kleinen Geschenke von Maria sehr willkommen. Der gute Eindruck, den wir von unseren Gastgebern hatten, hat sich auch in einem sehr netten gemeinsamen Abend bei Wein und Oliven bestätigt. Die Gastfreundschaft und Freundlichkeit ist einfach beeindruckend. Die Lage macht es zu einem idealen Ausgangspunkt, um bei Wanderungen und mit dem Auto Wasserfälle, das grüne urwaldähnliche Gelände, Badestellen, Sandstrände, wilde Steinstrände, heisse Vulkanquellen....... zu entdecken. Wir können das Haus nur empfehlen und bedanken uns noch einmal bei unseren perfekten Gastgebern.

Great place to call home

Staying Quinta da Pavoa - Cottage House was a great experience. I highly recommend staying here if you choose to stay anywhere near Vila Franca do Campo (VFdC). The location afforded a great scenic view of VFdC. Cats and dogs were friendly. Maria was a wonderful host. She treated us with care and respect. And the pictures do so little justice to how beautiful the house is. If my travels lead me back to VFdC, I will be staying here again.
