The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and the atmosphere was so cool. It felt like we were staying in a treehouse in the jungle! The provided breakfast was good along with the other snacks in the common area. Very cool experience!

We absolutely loved our stay at Mauna Loa Lodge. The entire property is beautiful and peaceful, and it immediately made us feel welcome. The room was spotless and thoughtfully prepared, and all the small touches showed how much care the staff puts into maintaining the place. The tiny garden outside was especially lovely. We felt completely at home during our stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend!

It is hard to explain, but it is like a treehouse in the jungle. Beatiful flowers, bamboo, trees, ferns, and moss. Carlos was exceptional in answering questions and being feiendly! The beds are very comfortable and sheets were unbelievable. Everyrhing was an A+!

Excellent séjour atypique au Volcano Vill. Lodge

Volcano Village Lodge est un petit établissement bien placé, proche du parc national Volcano. Très au calme au cœur de la rain forest, nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Il dispose en plus d’un jacuzzi accessible facilement. Seules déceptions de notre côté : lors de notre arrivée une très gentille dame nous a informé que nous pouvions accéder à la réception pour venir se reposer, prendre un café, manger quelques snacks… sauf qu’elle n’est jamais ouverte. Nous y sommes allé à plusieurs reprises (matin, après midi), jamais personne. Ensuite le ménage des lodges mériterait d’être un peu plus soigné, notamment dans les recoins, il y a pas mal d’insectes. Enfin, le petit déjeuner est déposé dans le réfrigérateur, la veille en chambre, ce qui limite la qualité des produits.

Romantic hideway in the rainforest

We stayed in the Kilauea condo, which is surrounded by tropical rain forest. Very romantic. Carlos prepared a nice breakfast for the two days that we stayed. We were blessed to be there one night when Kilauea erupted. The manager texted us and we were among the first people there. Amazing experience. The only negative is that the wifi is limited so download anything you want to watch before you come or enjoy the view and read a book

This is a very nice property. I would rate it above the Kona Marriott Courtyard but not quite as nice as The Marriott Hapuna Beach. Would stay here again for sure if the Volcano was erupting. Breakfast was likely the weak link in the stay but still ok. The Staff lady was very nice.

The room was beautiful and relaxing. I wanted to spend time there! Everything seemed well thought out so the small details made it quite a special experience. The bed and linens were great, the fruit was lovely, and the coffee/tea with the table set was welcoming. I could warm up quickly if it got chilly, and the private patio with rocking chairs was a nice way to enjoy coffee at dawn.

The heater did not work in our room. One bed was too cold to sleep in. The other one had electric heating pads. We put a beach towel from their spa on the ground in our bathroom after use. It was hung up on a hook the second day. Coffee wasn't restocked on the second day. Check-in was also unpleasant, but another innkeeper made up for it. Wi-Fi was barely working as they advertised. Overall - does not worth $700 per night. I heard they might have changed owners. Someone who had lived here in 2018 told me the owners at the time were an elder couple from SF who went back for better retirement life (better hospitals in SF). Not sure if that's the case. I did not get to meet their lead innkeeper or owner.

Best place we stayed at during our 10-day trip to the big island, without question. Staff was courteous and extremely helpful. Cottage was amazing. Wish we had been able to stay another night. We will definitely be returning at some point in the future.
