Fun getaway
We enjoyed the property - it was renovated beautifully and the decor was gorgeous. We also enjoyed the hot tub. The house is just across from a small strip mall area and is a little busy, but once inside - the home was wonderful!

Adorable historic home near Baylor.
This quaint little house was perfect for a quick getaway to Waco. It was adorably decorated and perfectly situated near Baylor and several area attractions. There was a pizza place directly across the street and a donut store within walking distance. The patio area with a hot tub was a perfect spot to relax. The beds were comfortable and, while there was a lot of street noise (as listed in other reviews) there are noise machines to help block some it and it was mostly only on the weekends. It had everything we needed for our stay, but if you have kids who like to dirty a lot of dishes, you’ll want to bring some paper plates and cups. The manager was very responsive and helpful.

Great cottage, location, location, location
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint little home. We live in a near century old home, so crooked and creaky floors are fine by us. The pros: Location, it is within minutes of ANYTHING Magnolia, the Cameron Park zoo, Dr. Pepper and Texas Rangers (law enforcement, not the ball team) museums and Baylor University. The home is nicely decorated and ‘feels’ like home. The off-street COVERED parking came in VERY handy, as we experienced some unfavorable weather during our stay. Heating and air kept us warm on some chilly nights and PLENTY cool when the temps rose. Overall, if we’re ever back in the area, we would DEFINITELY book again. The Cons: Location, while it’s very convenient to the sights and attractions, the home is located on a (what seemed to be) main thoroughfare through the area. The ignorant vehicle owners, with loud exhausts, loud stereo systems, and wreckless driving (speeding, mostly) were a pretty significant nuisance on more than one night of our stay. Lastly, the communication from, I presume, the management company, was severely lacking. On several occasions, our messages with questions were not answered in a timely manner…..this could have been HUGE, if there was a dire problem. To summarize, as stated, our personal experience left us feeling as if we would definitely book this home again, and we would recommend it to anyone, with the caveat of, “if you’re used to a quiet and calm setting in life, you’d likely find this home less than favorable”….but it fit our needs just fine.

Wonderful location for Baylor
This is our second stay at the quaint house. It’s close to campus and our daughter’s house. It is always so clean and decorated so cute (shabby chic/farmhouse). Great kitchen for cooking if you like but also close to many restaurants. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful historic home in a great location
This house is a wonderful location. It is on a busy road, but the home owner furnished noise machines in the bedroom. The beds are comfortable and we were able to make ourselves at home for a very nice five day stay. We will stay again!

We had a great time at your house and enjoyed the property immensely. The only issue is that it was so blasted hot out side, it was a little warm in the house during the day. The extra AC in the bedrooms cooled things down nicely while sleeping. Thanks!

Great little getaway place to stay when visiting Waco. House is old but was set up really nice and clean. Beds and linens were very nice. The house is on a busy street but didn’t really effect us to much. Short drive to Magnolia Market and restaurants . I would definitely recommend this place.

Girls trip
My friend of 50 years snd I visited Waco to celebrate our 60 th birthdays. The property was super easy to grt to, get in and very comfortable to use. We were within 10” of all Magnolia things to do and we did ghem all. I can recommend this property for anyone in the Waco area. Downside: street noise- we found it stopped around 1100. If you go in Summer, keep the A/C 70 or below.

This house is amazing. The decor is like stepping into chip and Jojos world. The location is easy for tons of shopping, magnolia, Finders, spice village. I cant put into words how much I loved this weekend. My best friend and I used the firepit in the backyard area at night and in the morning while enjoying our beverage of choice. The house had everything we needed. I love the little details like the welcome book listing all the shopping and places to eat so we didn't have to guess. The beds were comfortable. Im pretty sure I'm going to come back every other month for a bestie getaway! There were no issues, but the host sent a message upon arrival with contact information and to make sure we didn't need anything. Wonderful cozy weekend!!

We just spent 2 nights in the cutest bungalow on Bagby Avenue in Waco! The decor was perfect to compliment our first visit to The Silos and Magnolia Market. The house has everything you could want for an enjoyable stay - great amenities, comfy beds, close to everything. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating area and fireplace since it was a bit chilly in the evening.

Adorable silos getaway
This house is in a great location only 10 minutes from the silos. The home is well appointed with the cutest decor & all the amenities we needed for a weekend retreat. Even though the neighbors were a bit noisy, the sound machine in the bedrooms blocked out a lot of the noise. The beds & pillows were so comfy & the shower had great pressure. The information book they provided was so helpful to figure pit where to eat & shop. We definitely enjoyed our stay & would recommend to friends and family. Thank you!!

Disappointed! Go elsewhere.
This house is at least 100 years old, no exaggeration. The refurbishing and decorating looked professionally done. Those are the photos in the listing. However, it is located in a poor, rundown area of the city. Granted, college students abound, but the area looks like it is mixed with students and just old, trashy rentals. Upon entering the door, we were hit with a powerful old musty smell, but we assumed it would go away once we aired it out. It did not ever go away. The automatic air freshener sitting in the dining room was not up to job even though it went off every 15 minutes. We put it outside at night so the annoying swish sound would not disturb our sleep. It was hard to breathe well and the smell was even in the mattresses! The house sits about 10 feet or so from the actual street! The heavy traffic right outside the front bedroom kept my friend from getting any sleep. The back of the house sits about 5 feet from the parking lot of the apartments behind it and the sound of people coming and going, slamming their car doors and setting their car alarms until 2:00 am kept me from getting any sleep. The age of this house has settled into a permanent tilt, so walking from room to room is like being on a boat being tossed by gentle waves. None of this is any exaggeration, believe me. The house was clean. It was decorated so well that we could tell Joanna Gaines must have influenced the decorator to our approval. However, I feel that the cost is exhorbitant considering all the minuses. I feel that I should get a partial refund for the dishonest advertising. The owner needs to cut his losses and get this one off the VRBO market.

To put things in perspective with the above review, I have attached reviews from guests immediately before and after her visit- reviews that express a very different experience. Reviews serve the purpose of offering an opportunity for guests to share their opinions. The one useful take away that we found from her review was that some folks are light sleepers. Though most guests have not mentioned noise or trouble sleeping at all, we’ve decided to include a sound machine in each bedroom for those who might prefer background noise while falling asleep. As for the neighborhood, many of the homes and apartments in this area are newer built- predominantly for Baylor students. The location has been clearly advertised as located “within the Baylor bubble” and is the main reason many of our guests have book and rebooked our home. Almost all of our reviews over the past year from two different sites have been 4 or 5 stars, but as we all know there will always be someone who finds things to complain about. While we are sad to see such a negative review about a place we’ve worked hard to make special, we respect a person’s right to complain and hope that each of you reading this will not be put off too much by such an opinion. Reviews from stays immediately before and after: "We loved our experience here! Every little detail was thought of and it was the perfect home away from home for the weekend!" (11/5 – 11/8) “Wonderful place and best location you can find! Will definitely be returning!” (11/21 – 11/23) "We had a fabulous stay at the house with our 3 small children. The house is located blocks from the Baylor campus . It is a 1930’s bungalow . The only problem was the air conditioning struggles to keep the small house cool or possibly we were not smart enough to to figure the nest out !

Great experience, but kitchen was lacking
Loved the house and the setup of the house. Our only comment is that the kitchen looked ready to use until we tried to cook and realized there were no cooking dishes. No pots or pans, no utensils. We had to run out and buy some (which we left behind for the next guest), but we suggest the owner buy some basics for the kitchen to make it usable.
