Very friendly check in and room available early, bit small and definitely in need of a refresh. Good breakfast and a well stocked bar. Easy to get public transport to Oxford and set in a very nice little village.

This is a beautiful old building with great rooms and we had a really nice meal in the restaurant the evening of our stay. Unfortunately we booked to stay on the hottest night of the year but the staff did their best to keep us in a cooler room. The breakfast is pretty good as well.

Struttura storica e affascinante. Alcune camere dovrebbero essere in ristrutturazione, le nostre non ancora ma nel complesso pulite e dotate di tutti i servizi necessari. Ottima qualità del cibo, cena leggermente più costosa della media ma vale i soldi spesi. Colazione eccellente e con diversi menù a scelta. Una nota di merito al personale, disponibile ad aiutarci telefonando al posto nostro all'hotel successivo per un problema con la prenotazione. Senza linea sul cellulare e con il nostro inglese corretto ma non perfetto ci ha evitato ulteriori disguidi. Paese piccolo ma con alcuno scorci interessanti si può fare una passeggiata nei dintorni. Parcheggio comodo un posto nelle vicinanze si trova facilmente. Oxford si raggiunge in venti minuti con il bus senza muovere l'auto. Nel complesso ottima scelta costo-qualità.

A mixed bag, old building so bedroom & bathroom certainly not to modern standards! Evening meal was poor and expensive however the breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room was very nice. All staff were very friendly.

Das Hotel war vom Style her sehr urig, die Möbel antik. Es war ein sehr verschachteltes Haus mit viel Geschichte. Die Zimmer waren okay, nur in die Jahre gekommen, auch der Duschkopf war sehr verkalkt. Das Frühstück war für ein internationales Frühstück in Ordnung. Das Personal am Empfangstresen bei Ankunft eher mürrisch , beim Frühstück sehr und am nächsten Morgen sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

This hotel is special: beautiful common areas and sleeping accommodations, charming and historic, and with an especially responsive staff. Clean, roomy, well-maintained, comfortable, everything you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber. I couldn’t recommend any higher. You’ll be assured of an excellent stay.
