Great Cabin in Nature
This is a lovely place to stay! You walk out onto the deck to great mountain views, there is easy access to great hiking, and we saw elk, deer, moose, bear, and coyotes from the cabin.

Peaceful relaxing
We had a wonderful time avoiding crowds of people. Lots of hiking on the property that connects to Roosevelt National Forest trails. We loved the large deck and cabin windows that gave you a constant view of the beauty you are surrounded by.

Peaceful happy home
This property and its owner are wonderful. The view around the outside of the cabin was breath taking. The cabin sit up on a rocky hill with mountains and valleys surrounding it. There are also wild life that surrounds the cabin. While we were here we seen moose, elk, rabbits, birds of all kinds and chipmunks. Lots of areas to hike and very secluded and peaceful. Will definitely come again!!

2022 Family Vacation
We honestly didn't know what to expect. The planning of this vacation with timed permits and rental properties was stressing me out! This cabin kept popping up in my suggestions and so I finally clicked on it. It looked cute, rustic and not in the popular areas so we took a chance and booked it. WE STRUGGLED getting out to Colorado from Michigan and my friend said to me, "your vacation must be pretty epic if it's such a struggle to get to it"...and she was right. The photos in this listing do NOT do it justice! The views from this quaint and cozy cabin are beyond breathtaking! Every morning I would climb up the rocks behind the cabin and watch the sunrise over the mountains! Entering a different time zone that allows that was such a blessing! We saw Elk in the meadow more than once, grazing and basking in the sun! We were blessed with one sunset over the mountains and it was incredible! We hiked daily in the RMNP and even spent one day in the RNF. We honeymooned in Estes Park 17 years ago and LOVED the town but it is sadly over populated now. I highly suggest traveling to Jamestown, Nederland or Lyons if you want that small mountain town feel! Jim was incredible to communicate with, helped us with fishing spots and made our stay stress-less! We reconnected as a family (with teens and phones that is hard) and that alone was worth every traffic jam, accident, altitude sickness and flat tires! <3 it Truly was an epic vacation! I feel my husband and I will be back many times once the kids "fly the coop".

Very special place, Happy Home
You can sit on the deck and watch the elk come into the meadow in the evening. Saw two elk fawns in the herd. Also saw a moose. Great place for sunset, quiet and solitude. Night skies were brilliant with stars. Not many places where you can be glamping and have all the comforts of home.

A beautiful mountain getaway!
This was the perfect night away from all the hustle and bustle in a beautiful cabin! It had everything we needed to cook a nice meal and enjoy it on an amazing porch while watching the sunset over a stunning mountain! We loved having the private acreage to hike around and enjoy nature without having to go to the nearby popular trails. Super comfy bed and some fun board games to play!

The view is what your here for.
The cabin is nice. The deck is where we spent most of our time other than hiking. The property is large and has plenty of space to spend a day taking animal trails and looking around. the owner Jim is very nice and respectful. The property is well maintained, secluded and private.

Beautiful comfortable remote cabin
This is a beautiful, remote cabin in the high mountains, sited on a rocky bluff looking down on a meadow which is a travel route for elk, moose and occasional bear. The drive from the road to the cabin was easily accessible in early September. The cabin is comfortable and well supplied by off the grid solar. Barring a trip to Nederland to restock groceries, we had no wish to leave. We were alone on 200 acres with space to wander and out the door access to national forest trails. The days were so full, there was much new to us, we explored and read and rested and ate and slept. Repeat. We saw animals being themselves daily. Happy Home is deeply alive and we felt gradually grounded and aired out and well rested in body and spirit. We are grateful for the ancient terrain and rhythms and reset in perspective.

A unique and charming visit
Solar power that worked great and propane for stovetop and hot water in a wilderness setting provided us with a new experience. Terrific views, morning coffee and evening wine on the deck with lovely sunrises and sunsets, and a full moon appearing on the horizon while Venus sets over an opposite mountain. And elk in the meadow—3 bulls in full antler and multiple cows and calves.
