Very comfortable and convenient place to stay to visit DC

The listing was accurate but the communication from the hosts is what made this place easy to find and access. The parking spot was very convenient and easy to access. The townhouse was attractive and comfortably outfitted and we loved that the bedrooms/baths were on different floors. Hosts were friendly and attentive.

Ideal Stay

I don't think we could have found a more ideal stay. Easily navigated everything to do and see within a 30 minute walk even with a 3, 7, and 9 year old. Luisa & Gonzalo were SUPER RESPONSIVE and very helpful and, even better, made the checkout process as seamless as can be. We really enjoyed this stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Great Place

Everything with the house was as listed. Location was perfect for what we were wanting with visiting the National Mall, and lots to do even more immediately to the property. Would definitely recommend this property for those visiting DC!

Weekend DC trip

It was a wonderful stay here. The location was perfect and the house was a good fit for us. The owner was a great help and answered quickly. My one complaint is there was an odor around the kitchen sink area.

Sibling retreat

Three of us stayed here and have nothing but compliments. I've been going to DC for nearly 50 years and never knew that the Wharf area was developed 20 years ago now with shops, food and amazing architecture. Great location.

Family place to stay

This was all about location, comfort and location. We were so close to everything for must see. In the evening being by the warf was fun and added another place to hang out. We had smaller children with us and they didn’t want to leave the kids room. Place had everything you could possibly think off that you may need during your stay. This was excellent place to stay. Next time we have family come visit we hope this will be available for us to stay in.

Family DC Trip

It’s a good location - walking distance to the wharf and the metro which can get you to any of the DC sights. Safe area and near a CVS at the Wharf and a Safeway for groceries. Top bathroom was missing conditioner but had shampoo and soap (they probably would have corrected but I had brought my own). The hosts were very communicative. I didn’t love the particular app that I had to download onto my phone to open the door initially (and then there is a physical key if wanted) but it did work. Bedrooms and other spaces all as pictured. The top floor had a separate AC which was great. This location worked well for everyone, but you do have to go upstairs for the bedrooms /bathrooms (only an issue if you have a handicapped individual with you).

Great location

Overall, we had a great stay. Location was excellent for seeing most sites in DC. The unit worked very well for our group of 4 adults and 2 teens. The owner was very accessible. He responded to all our requests and was very accommodating. Some minor issues to note, AC units on the top floor were noisy but they did work to keep it cool. The kitchen was generally well stocked but could use a larger frying pan and some measuring cups were missing but we were able to make do. We would be happy to stay there again.

Great Location

We stayed 9 nights. The location is ideal. The place does need a fresh coat of paint in the high traffic areas, and for the price, definitely some upgrades to the upstairs bathroom. The bathrooms are small but this was expected. Beds are comfortable, but the upstairs air conditioners are very loud. The kitchen was wonderful and well stocked. Gonzalo is great! He’s attentive but not overly and very helpful.

Perfect townhome for a family, great location

We loved staying at this townhome. It was perfect for our family of 5. It's a cozy home, with all the amenities, appliances and kitchen gadgets a family would need. Located by the wharf, only 5-minute walk to all the restaurants and shops there. Just 17-minute walk to the national mall. We left our van at the private parking spot provided and haven't had to return to it until our vacation was over. Kids loved the house and the tour of DC. 2 twin beds in bedroom 3 are actually a bed and a trundle, which worked out great for our boys. Thank you Luisa and Gonzalo.

Great location but insufficient air conditioning

There are a lot of good things to say about this unit. The location is great! You can easily walk to the Wharf for dinner, and those up for a little more exercise can walk to key attractions like the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. The neighborhood is quiet, despite being in a big city.The unit was well-stocked with kitchen supplies, and the host provided additional towels/washcloths upon request. The host is a gem, very kind and working hard to make sure you have a good experience. We loved the fact that this rental has 3 bedrooms, making it easy to space out our children.There are some maintenance items that need to be addressed in the unit, but the biggest problem we encountered is that the HVAC system is simply incapable of keeping up with the summer heat. Even though the host set it to 70 degrees on the first floor, I never saw it get below 73. The second floor is quite warm, and it was difficult to spend much time there without being uncomfortable. The third floor is equipped with two room air conditioners for the bedrooms, which made sleeping possible. You have to leave them running 24/7 or they will "fall behind" and not cool easily to your desired temperature in the evening. There is very little AC in the bathrooms.One other downside to the unit is that there is no outside space for kids to play or adults to relax in the evening. If the AC were fixed and there was a little extra deep cleaning, I would give this unit a 5-star rating.

DC Adventures

Great location! A few blocks away from Safeway, the Waterfront Metro Station and the Wharf District. The host was very responsive, through VRBO messages and direct text. It is three stories, which I didn't understand from the listing or the photos. The beds are firm, which I didn't know my back would like (but it did) and they seem smaller than the queen beds promised in the listing. A solid middle class neighborhood, where the real people live. The unit is a little warn and a little less shiny than the pictures, but completely serviceable. Be sure to visit the duck pond on your way to Safeway. I can highly recommend the Metro - it's clean and safe. We took it everywhere including to Mount Vernon, on a 7 day short trip pass. Can recommend Toastique restaurant on the Wharf and Founding Farmers near the White House (try the Beignets!). Recommend visits to Arlington National Cemetery (but not on Memorial Day weekend or when it's hot), Mount Vernon, the Renwick Gallery and the National Museum of African American History and Culture (they have a great restaurant with food true to the culture). We went to the White House, but there was a lot of line-standing in the heat, a big crowd, and four security checkpoints. The tour is unguided and was very brief, because it was hard to get close to the wall displays because of the crowds and because I was wilted and thirsty.
