There is a lot to like about this little cottage, with location and setting being atop the list. The property overlooks the beach; during our late September visit, we just had to step out the door and look to our left for sunrises, and to our right for stunning sunsets. At night you could hear the waves just outside the window. It might be different in summer but the neighborhood was very quiet for our visit. Kitchen and shower worked well; beds were definitely on the hard side. We were disappointed that the grill didn’t work — weather was nice and we had planned our dinners around nightly grilling. The agency sent a repairman who declared it a a long lost cause. Ideally the owner will replace the broken “Home Depot Special” with a better quality grill before next season, but it’s worth confirming when booking if that’s important to you. For their part, the Robert Paul agency was professional in all their communications, making arrival, stay and departure all easy and clear. Overall we’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful sunsets (and sunrises) were just a step out the door.

Family getaway

Such a sweet stay in pictoresque Wellfleet! This cottage was just perfect for our family vacation. The location is excellent - on the beach and very close to our favorite Wellfleet shops and restaurants. Our basketball players enjoyed the nearby court and running the Great Island Trail in the morning was such a bliss. The small kitchen was very well equipped for the occasional cooking we did, and everything was just as described in the listing. At every point of our booking process we were assisted quickly and in a friendly manner - thank you!

Nice getaway

Great location to everything in Wellfleet and other parts of the cape. My kids loved the beach and it made for some great family days. Only a few negatives. I questioned if the mattress pads were changed, or the blankets were washed. You need to bring seasonings because the ones they have stocked on the wall are old and not useable. And the ice cube tray was falling apart. If you have a baby in a pack n play the space is a little cramped to fit one anywhere. The positives: location was great with a picturesque view of the beach. House was small but useful. We utilized the grill often so the propane being provided was great. The 2 box fans provided were useful. The lower price off season was worth it. Not sure we’d go if it was hotter with no AC.

Lovely stay

one thing - We did have an issue there being garbage piled outside the cottage when we arrived. I called to have it removed, but the removal took so long, the neighbors blamed us for the mess. I explained that is was not our garbage and I did not have the tools to clean it up. So the neighbor cleaned it up. Otherwise, it was wonderful and the neighbor was kind. Thank you.

Waterfront cottage

Our stay in Wellfleet in the Waterfront cottage was comfortable and the location was delightful and convenient. I do suggest that some paper towels, garbage bags and dish cleaning soap and sponge be available. Additionally, when you list coffeemaker in the amenities you should say needs pods since it's a Keurig. I would recommend this cottage to my friends and would stay here again. Thank you!

Location, Location !

An excellent deal with exception of no Air Conditioning....in this day and age, ....really? If I wanted the no AC experience I would have stayed in an AMC hut on the Appalachian trail Owner could solve problem with one $200 window unit

Quaint, No thrills; But Beaitiful area

Property very basic. Bed comfort less than desired. Great location. Needs some updating and love/personalization. Price reflects quality. A good place to stay. Not excellent, not terrible either.

Excellent Views and very sub-par amenities and service from Leasing Agent

The views of Wellfleet from the unit are breathtaking and the best part of rental. The unit itself should have been better for the cost of the unit. There was no AC in the unit and when we arrived it was nearly 100F, a temperature that was expected to maintain for a few more days. At night we had to keep the windows open to keep cool, but this led to more problems because dogs frequently walked past the unit barking. The furniture in the living room seemed new, but also cheap and very uncomfortable (hard). Additionally all of the appliances in the unit were old. The service from the Leasing Agent, Berkshire Hathaway Robert Paul properties, was terrible. When arriving at the location to pick up the keys there was no explanation of where the property was on the site. After driving to the condo site, we walked around for 20 min trying to determine which unit was ours. I attempted to call the Leasing Agent at that time but received no response. An owner of an adjacent condo helped us out. Robert Paul Prosperities also alleged that I had a dog on the property. I was called by a leasing agent and a note was left on my door that there was a dog in the unit and it was barking. Apparently they were told this by other owners at the condo site. I did not bring a dog on this trip.

A perfect spot for a perfect vacation!

This cottage was exactly as advertised! The place was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The view is spectacular and the location could not be more perfect. It's a quiet, peaceful area with 3 great restaurants just a short walk away and many more great places just a short drive. After a day of whale watching off the coast of Provincetown or a day spent at Martha's Vineyard, it was wonderful to come back to the peace and quiet of the waterfront directly in front of the cottage. We fell asleep most nights to the sound of the waves almost right outside out bedroom window, There was some unexpected excavation and workmen around for the first few days to fix the electrical issue mentioned in the other reviews. Paula from the property management company called us multiple times to be sure everything was ok and the owner graciously offered to compensate us for the inconvenience. Rest assured that the electrical issues mentioned in other reviews have been resolved! This was our first trip to Cape Cod and we could not have asked for a better experience! We will definitely be back!

Pre season get away

We had a good week. Met up with relatives from out of state that were in another cottage a few doors from us. This listing needs updated pictures as newer furniture now. There are 2 fans available, grill (gas) needs updating and cover does not fit properly. Plenty of pillows and blankets, TV is small but easy to navigate and internet available. Right next to water, pergoda and seating of stairs to beach. Lovely beach not crowded as we were there pre season. Lights flickered daily - not sure what the issue was. Clean, nice shower. We would probably consider going again in a few years.

Wonderful experience except. . .

It's a very nice property in a beautiful location, well appointed and stocked. Great ocean views in both bedrooms. We love the village, the hiking, ocean and bay beaches. Lots of good restaurants. We'd love to come back but the mattresses were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Mattress toppers would really help. Other than the mattresses, we loved our stay at the cottage.

Perfect location

We spent a wonderful week in Wellfleet. The cottage was within a short walk to three great restaurants and a bit of a longer walk to many more. We definitely recommend checking out Pearl during happy hour, 3-5, for the live music and delicious food (daily during July and August). Mac's at the Pier has excellent lobster rolls and enough variety on their menu so everyone can find something they would like. The Bookstore restaurant was so good we ate there twice (try their desserts). The cottage is right on the bay so we were able to fall asleep to the sounds of the waves most nights. At high tide, the kids enjoyed swimming in the bay. At low tide, they enjoyed finding crabs, scallops, oysters and clams. Two wonderful ocean beaches are about a 10-15 minute drive away (Head of the Meadow and Marconi). They are well worth the cost and veterans and active duty military can get in free! We saw several seals and enjoyed boogie boarding in the waves. The complex has 2 bike racks if you want to bring your bikes and a community clothes line. The cottage had everything we needed and was exactly as described. While small, it was just enough room for the 4 of us, especially since we were outside most of the time any way. There was a nice breeze off the bay most evenings to make it comfortable to sleep, but on the few very hot days, the house did become quite stuffy. Some air conditioning units would be a nice addition. It would be nice to have a washer and dryer as well, but there definitely isn't room for them. There were a lot of hooks to hang towels to air dry. The biggest complaint I have is that the furniture and beds were quite uncomfortable. If we stay here again we would definitely have to find a way to bring a memory foam mattress topper or something. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed including a hair dryer, keurig and toaster oven. We didn't want to use the oven since that would make the house hotter, so we took advantage of the gas grill. The community is friendly, safe, quiet and low key. We loved the atmosphere and will definitely stay in this area again!

Perfect cottage in a perfect location

This cottage and its location exceeded all of my expectations. The cottage is clean, bright, airy and open. But be aware that the bedrooms are snug. There was a constant breeze coming through the windows and we could often hear the waves. There are water views from every part of the cottage with the bluffs of Great Island in one direction and the harbor in the other. The condo community was quiet and the other renters/owners were very respectful. The harbor is an easy 1/3 mile walk up the street and Wellfleet Center is a pleasant one-mile walk. I'm looking forward to returning.
