"The view of mountains id stunning, as is the aroma of fresh air and the enchanting songbirds. We had a great time in the small but adequate swimming pool. It is easy to miss the turn onto Laurence Lane, so it would be good if a sign were to be installed there."

"This is a beautiful property, a great place to stay. I found the room to be very relaxing and enjoyable. It was clean, which is really the most important thing to me. The man who checked us in was very friendly however he may have been slightly intoxicated. Because of this, it did take him a while to actually come to the desk, and he really struggled, putting in our information. It was the most memorable hotel check-in I’ve ever had. But overall, it was a nice place to stay."

"I always give myself a little bit of time before I write a review. The location is very nice. The amenities provided was on point. You can really tell that the hostess wants anybody renting to be comfortable. The whole house is kept up clean & beautiful. Loved the pool. One thing that my family didn’t care for, is the AC to fan ratio throughout the home. There is one AC put in the 1st floor bedroom, which is a little bulky & not quiet. The rest of the house was hot because there is no AC. The hostess DOES provide plenty of fans. The downfall of that is, when you have a fan on you all the time, your throat starts hurting. When the fan is on high on the 2nd floor, you can hear it when you’re in the 1st floor bedroom. Understand that Vermont is more of a wintry resort for skiing. (Suggesting) in the summer an AC unit be provided in the main part of the home for everybody can be comfortable. That was the only negative thing my family had to say. Other than that they were very happy & had fun.1 problem/complaint I ran into right away was the fridge/freezer. It was at the highest # but not staying its temperature. I reported it right away. Ice cream that took 3 days to freeze. I took pictures & sent to the hostess. The reply was there shouldn’t be that much items in it. That was crazy, when there was nothing covering the vents. I thought I would be told, I’ll have it looked at. *NO I was offered that 6 people can leave & a partial refund. Didn’t see that reply coming but ok."
"From the moment we checked in through check out, was a total pleasure. Very welcoming staff Andrew & Erin were wonderful. The rooms were spotless and nice a homey log cabin feel. Breakfast featured the best blueberry pancakes I have ever had along with delicious breakfast sausages. Can't wait to go back."
"We returned to this place on a quick 2-day/last minute get away. Owner is new from last time. Nice people; helpful and made a very good breakfast. Only issue we really had was the plumbing. Our room had some kind of venting issue with the sink/toilet/shower. Toilet bubbled and would go down at times; sink would go slow/stop at times; shower also stopped up and went down very slow. Told the owner about it and hopefully they can get it fixed. But overall, pleasant stay."
"We will definitely return to the Hideaway! We got a text before arrival with our room number and code which was very convenient. The hotel is warm and cozy and beautifully decorated. There is neat stuff to look at everywhere. The 3 floors of common spaces were really cool with a lot to offer, like a water bottle filler and coffee maker. It could use to be cleaned a little more often. When we arrived, the playroom had toys all over the floor and there were sticky drink marks on the bar and crumbs on the coffee table. Someone had crushed the chalk under the dart board and all but 1 of the darts was broken. Regardless, we had a blast playing classic Mario on the arcade game. The living room upstairs was gorgeous, next time we will be sure to use that to play games and maybe watch a movie. We didn’t use the pool because it looked green (we opted to go to the lake instead) but we did make a fire and made s’mores down at one of the fire pits on our second night which was so nice to have. The closet in the hallway to grab towels and such is super convenient and the manager was only a text away if you needed anything. Our room was beautiful and so big. We loved the balcony and the record player in the room was a cool touch my boys had fun listening to. This is a very quiet property with a lot to keep families occupied or just relax and enjoy nature. We had a wonderful stay and when we met the manager she was so sweet! We absolutely loved it and will return for future VT trips."
