close to Hyannis for shopping/dining, quiet, nice neighborhood. updated, cute/cozy feeling at first glance. Upon arrival, it appeared pretty clean, it does have the essentials needed for your stay. It could be cleaner. As we settled in, I noticed It didn’t look like the floors had been cleaned, there was A LOT of dust everywhere, spider/cobwebs around all the windows/upper walls as well as house spiders- upwards of 7-10 when we arrived. We had to spend time dewebbing inside the home and cleaning the floors as we had a baby in the home. More spiders were showing up that we had to deal with, it was not comforting. A few other more minor issues. The bigger issue now. We had to turn on heat as it got cold the weekend we were here, especially with a baby in the home. It became evident that there was a problem with the furnace as the heat wasn’t coming on. Also made aware the owners know about this and continue to rent it. We contacted VACASA about the heat/spiders. They initially sent someone who was able to get the heat going. unfortunately,later that evening the heat stopped working again. At this point it was cold in the home, and after calling vacasa another time, was promised I’d receive a phone call within an hour that never came. I once again called and was told “I am so sorry, this is unacceptable, I will look into this and have someone call/come out” to which I waited until late at night and still received no call. The next morning still no call, after calling multiple times again speaking with different agents throughout the day, who continued to assure us someone would call and come, as well as contacting VRBO to get involved. We finally decided we could no longer stay here. Many hours of trip were spent making calls, waiting for someone to come, while the baby was cold and couldn’t sleep. The whole situation was awful/made for an uncomfortable/stressful trip. VACASA each time would apologize, no solution came. In the end, we were offered a refund/relocate, asked for refund, as it didn't make sense to relocate our last night, especially with a baby. 2 weeks later only received partial refund. Called multiple times again with no follow through. VRBO also unsupportive stating we would have had to call them within 24hrs of trip, after initially stating we could f/up about VRBO fee refund later as we called during our stay. I truly hope no one else has to go through what we did. Terrible way to treat renters/customer concerns and ruin a trip.
