What a fabulous cottage.

What a fabulous cottage. It was very comfortable and well equipped with all the essentials, especially the all-important corkscrew for the bottles of wine. Sitting by the log burner on the wet, low cloud days was so cosy and when the weather changed we sat out in the amazing garden for meals. Views from the cottage are outstanding. The local pubs do excellent food and there are stunning walks for the dogs literally on your doorstep. A village shop (with delicious homemade gluten-free baked goods) and a Co-Op are very good for supplies. Although we are relatively local (we only live about 15 miles away) it made a perfect change of scenery for the week. Thank you.

Lovely place, we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely place, we really enjoyed our stay. There isnt much in Castleton, but a nice pub the Downe Arms and a Co-op for provisions. There are some great walks on your doorstep and a short drive to places like Saltburn and Whitby. The garden was peaceful, with stunning views. We particularly loved the church, which is basically through a gate in the garden. We would definitely recommend.
