The staff and host are very pleasant and friendly. There is lots to do. Even though it was raining the 2 days we were there it was still enjoyable. There are many shops to browse through. Boat trips, the Cook museum was interesting. It’s a short walk to the many shops and the sea front with lovely views.

From turning up to when we left we were looked after by Bill and his staff to a very high standard, The room was very clean and spacious , The breakfast was of a great standard and you could tell it was all locally sourced. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be visiting again.

Bill was amazing the breakfasts were delicious. Our room was so clean and the decor was very in keeping with Whitby's connection with Bram Stoker. Bill was full of interesting facts about the area and was able to reccommend a fab walking tour. Thank you for a great two days

Strongly recommended
This B and B is well located a short walk uphill from Whitby Harbour, in a street full of similar establishments. We were lucky to find parking nearby (a parking voucher is provided) but others may spend some time looking for a space. We self checked in with easy instructions provided on arrival and were very happy with the room, which was very clean. Breakfast, with a large range of choices, was excellent. We would strongly recommend Argyle House.

Great stay
We had a very nice stay: the room was comfortable, warm, clean and as described. The service was immaculate and the staff helpful and friendly. Very child friendly too. Location was excellent too, as we could walk anywhere, but were still on a quiet street We loved it!

A very quaint property and decorated nicely. The hosts were great and left our keys for us as we were late checking in. They provide a parking pass and everything was walkable❤️ Fantastic breakfast too. We will be back for sure

Great little b and b x location excellent - 5 minutes to the famous whalebone and 10 into town and the harbour. Bill a very obliging host - room cosy with comfortable bed and nice shower room. Great choice for breakfast and plenty of extras in the hallway for the hospitality tray in the room x will definitely return x

Very friendly
Took my mum here for the weekend. Staff were so helpful and friendly, sorting out parking and wheelchair friendly routes into town for us. The parking on a Saturday was very tricky; no room near the b&b but leisure centre round the corner had spaces (£7 for 7 hours) Property has a lot of steep stairs, which were not ideal for an 88 year old, but we managed and had a really lovely visit. Thanks Bill and staff.

Could not be happier with the stay at Argyle guest house. Bill and all the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent. Will definitely stay here again. Short walking distances to all local attractions. All just added to a great stay in Whitby.

Excellent stay
The overall stay was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough to help make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was particularly good and set us up for each day. The only drawback was the parking which was very difficult.

Fabulous Sleep
A fabulous 2night stay at Argyle House. Bill & Jo were extremely welcoming & super helpful. Beds were so comfy, so had fab sleep. Great location come out of B&B and wander down the hill & in Whitby. Huge bonus that yummy breakfast & stay includes a parking permit. So u park anywhere that suits & pop parking permit & all good.

Good but stay out of room 2.
Lovely breakfast. First room was themed like vampire and was awful. Guttering keeled and so the bay window was like a drum. Wanted to leave. They moved us next morning into a different non themed room which was far better and no drum. Service excellent

The gothic room was booked. Gothic room was what you got. I don't know what else i can do about that. Its Whitby, famous for goths and vampires. Anyway, I'm happy you got a neutral room. Most people come for the gothic rooms.As regards to the rain, whitby (and most of the country) flooded that weekend 4, 5th Aug. It was a heavy storm and downpour so i dont think anyone's guttering coped. Main roads were flooded in and out of Whitby, events cancelled throughout the country. Luckily no-one complained to me about the rain. Pls note. I shall be completing the gothic makeup of the guesthouse this winter as it is very popular.
