Traffic noise all night from main road windows need triple glazing at a minimum, hotel looked very tired in places. Light reported not working, not repaired in stay, receptionist was unhelpful, even worst she told me tea coffee etc was a compliment and she would see what see could do and get it sorted with the cleaner for the second day. Luckily caught the cleaning staff but they had been told nothing, but did sort out some teabags etc. On checking out not even a thank you, have a safe journey or was everything ok in fact not a word.

Parking in Whitby is terrible . I stayed here as it has good parking and caught the bus which runs past the hotel every 1/2H into Whitby . The pub restaurant are fine and they serve a decent but overpriced beer .

Great location as it was close to everything we wanted for our walking weekend. Comfortable accommodation, clean and tidy with daily house keeping if required. Staff at Penny Hedge are all really friendly and the service was fantastic. Good choice of food for breakfast; and enjoyed three evening meals during our stay.

Very smart and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. parking was great. It's a bit of a walk into Whitby mostly because (like the whole area) it is a bit hilly. It is walkable though or just a short car / taxi / bus ride. I would happilly recommend. Parking is okay in Whitby but will cost up to £10 for the day.

We have stayed at penny hedge before. The rooms are spotless got everything that you need and will top up coffee teas etc. We also had breakfast which is lovely. Staff very pleasant and helpful

Pretty surroundings and grounds. Staff very helpful. Our stay was noisy due to thin walls and very noisy residents. Bed was very uncomfortable. Would I stay again at £100 per night? No. Simply not worth it.

Comfortable room, but needs a bit of a refurb. Room was clean. Staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was good, especially the breakfast. We would definitely stay again Rooms on road side can be a little noisy

Lovely first time stay
Lovely clean room with partial sea view which was a bonus. Cosy welcoming pub with Scott and his staff really friendly. Had a nice meal here too. Great value for money. Short walk into the town centre. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would definitely come again.
