“It was like a brand new hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Good price would definitely stay again.”

“When I booked the room on Expedia, it said the room had a balcony. When we checked in our room did not. Went to the front desk and she said only the rooms in the atrium had balconies and she did not have any available. She said we booked a standard room and they don’t come with balconies. On Expedia website it says standard room with balcony. We did not get what we booked online and was very disappointed. ”

“My stay at Farmstead Inn was cut short by a storm. We had no electricity after 11:00 pm the first night. The next day the management said they could do nothing about canceling our room for the next night nor could they adjust price for all the inconvenience of having to find another hotel. Absolutely no accommodations, communication, or apologies were made by the property. There was NO plan for an emergency situation, no emergency power lights. They blamed Expedia in one of their conversations.……

“There are no glaring negatives to this property for us. The room was smaller than expected, but the bathroom was large. The staff seemed easily distracted. When we checked in the staff seemed to be in need of a big cup of coffee. When we were trying to check out the man was on his cell phone. We thought it might be a business call until he ended it with a hearty "later dude." We waited over 4 minutes for him to finish his call. Not the end of the world, but it wasn't what we expected. “The property was without power on 6/12 for check-in. I was given a sorry about your luck $50 onecash from Expedia and sent on my way. Unacceptable. The 2 nights was almost $300. I know this isn't about the hotel but just rating my non-exsistent stay.”

“When I came into the town of Shipshewana at 3ish I noticed that the traffic signals was not working and found out before checking in that there was no electricity in the entire town because of a storm overnight. So I went ahead and put my luggage in the room and continued on to my destination in town that had a generator running. I came back to the hotel at 8pm and found out that it still didn't have power. “General is fine, breakfast is good, just faucet dropping all night and drive me crazy”

“The room was clean and the lady at the front desk was helpful the first night. There was rarely someone at the front desk, tho. However, the room had some maintenence issues. There was tiling in the bathroom that was very sloppily repaired; there was a big patch of peeled/missing paint on the walls; the interior of the closet was missing a panel or mirror or something. There was no hair dryer. I know the power outage was not your fault, but we did not get breakfast and that was a bummer.”

“In this hotels defense, they had no power due to an outage caused by a tornado a day earlier. We had no idea before we got there that they had no power. There were no vacancies in near area that had power. Couldn’t tell if the place was clean as there were no lights. No emergency lighting for the hallways so we had to use our phones to see in the hallway and room. No hot water for shower etc. the staff was very nice and accommodating by allowing us to move to a room on the east side so the sun……

“The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The type of staff that loves what they do. We ended up in a bit of a scary situation with a tornado scare and had to evacuate the building. Staff was extremely supportive through it all.”
