No mop. No vacuum. No clean.
Pros: Property manager was responsive prior and during stay. They gave permission for us to have a family group over. Close to town. We were able to walk to coffee and back no trouble at all. Generally quiet area and house was spacious. The deer were cute and came right close up to the house. Cons: the game room had a mildewy smell. It was so bad I couldn’t go inside there without a cover on my face and without feeling grimy. There were several dead roaches in the game room as well so it is hard to feel comfortable and that we are staying in a clean home under those circumstances. When the listing says there’s a small cottage “on the property” it does not tell you it’s immediately outside the door to get in and out of the home. It’s difficult to feel like you’re getting away from it all when there are complete strangers within spitting distance. The property manager said there is a washer and dryer in the home in a locked closet but for whatever reason they elect to not provide that amenity. My fault for overlooking that on the listing but it is impossible to not do laundry on a trip with family of six. There is no vacuum, just a broom. There is also no mop or wet swiffer. How does one expect a large family to stay in a home for four days without a vacuum or mop? It feels gross to be in a home that long and not clean the floor. There are no hangers and the closet doors have all been removed. An electric kettle was listed as an amenity but there was none.
