"Very dated hotel. It’s clean and the staff are polite. The bar had run out of tapped beer and snacks. Not only that it shut before midnight including residents. Barman did give me a free short to compensate but a group of friends meeting up would have happily sat there until late! Breakfast was decent, a little limited. Cooked offering was tasty. My room was a single and very small but got the job done."

"Nice quiet spacious clean room (carpet a bit frayed in places) - just what we needed for a business stay. Good location in quiet street but handy for the town centre."

"Nice spa, nice renovations, shame the steam room wasn't working. The mens showers were cold. But other than that this was a nice hotel experience. The bedroom was a little small but well kept. The bar area and restaurant was well appointed and you can see nice refurbishment work had happened. The breakfast was excellent and worth the money. The location was quite good to access town with a short walk."

"Room was absolutely lovely, very homely and Dotty made us feel very welcome. We felt like we were at an old friends house for breakfast the next morning, it's a beautiful kitchen/dining area and Dotty made the best scrambled eggs. Would highly recommend. "

"Small but perfectly formed room. Comfy if squeaky bed. Good brekkers. No tea making facilities in room but the dining room is available 24h if you need a cuppa. Next door to black boy pub - quirky and well worth an hour or two whilst sinking some beers."

"Great location, with parking. Easy walk to the centre with good local pub Queen Inn a short walk away.Lovely walks and cycling, did not need to use our vehicle all week.Recommended place to stay in Winchester."
