The standard of our room was very good , temperature just right and bed very comfortable. Bathroom was luxurious with underfloor heating and aquavision. View from the room was magnificent over the parkland and gardens.
Impressive house, lovely room but a little let down by the need to climb up and down stairs when clearly i was not going to be able to easily as I had crutches
Had an amazing stay here. The whole hotel is beautiful and as you walk into reception to be greeted by a roaring fire with wellies all around it, you know you are going to enjoy your stay. Everywhere was immaculate, the rooms were very well equipped. We had afternoon tea, which was lovely, and plenty of good quality cocktails. Breakfast was excellent too. Lovely, lovely staff. Can't fault it, amazing hotel.
The hotel, the grounds, the people were great. What they need to work on is communication. We had booked months prior the Falconry Experience and it was confirmed. The day before (around 4pm) we were to participate we went to the front desk to see where we were to go the next day. They said come to the front desk 15 minutes before our event. We did. They told us to go to Falconry area so we walked there. We were taking pictures waiting for our falcon and guide to show up. They never came. About 10 minutes later the front desk person came and told us the event was canceled and that it had been canceled since the day before. He told us that they could not reach us the day before. We were staying at the hotel so there was no reason they could not have contacted us especially when we asked about it the day it was canceled. Also they tried to charge us for it when we checked out, but then changed her tune when we said you canceled it. If we had known the day it was canceled we could have made arrangements to go to Stonehenge. It was too late so we lost a day. Communication is needed.
Lainston House is amazing! We have stayed here twice and will come back again. Everything is impeccable. The food is truly for gourmands. The little ruin of a chapel, history and grounds are well worth exploring. Our only regret was that the falconer was on vacation. Gives us an excuse to come back
Thanks for the hospitality and the wonderful staff at The Lainston House. The reception team were superb, especially Kamile and the Portuguese chap. I actually wish I could have booked and stayed for longer. See you back soon!
The hotel is set in the most wonderful setting and I would love to come back and explore more. There is a cookery school and falconery too. I would have rated service and comfort higher but, for me, the bed was a bit worn on one side and not supportive or comfortable. The pillows and bedding were lovely but the zip in the middle of the duvet was annoying. Shower and jacuzzi bath lovely. Small slip up at breakfast when the coffee ordered turned into tea but otherwise very nice and service with a smile. Excellent welcome and check out with staff genuinely concerned for your enjoyment.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Lovely hotel with great staff. We were given a complimentary upgrade which was greatly appreciated but unfortunately because we were on the top floor - the heat was very uncomfortable. It would be great to install a form of cooling system.
