Our 3rd time at Oakland West

This is a brilliant property for family gatherings. It’s our third stay here and won’t be the last. Perfectly located at the top of Windermere, with a great walk up to Orrest Head on the doorstep. The facilities in the property are good, and Ross at Tarn & Fell escapes is good at communicating. No hesitation in recommending.

Lovely location with amazing views down to the lake. Worked so well for a large family get together. Very comfortable and clean. Windermere and the lakes generally have so much to do. The weather could have been better.

Extended family get together

Very spacious and extremely well equipped accommodation, especially the kitchen. With 3 generations in the same house there was lots of space for all, including the space for 6 cars. Having an enclosed garden worked very well with 3 dogs and young children. The location was perfect to walk onto the hills without having to cross the main road. Will definitely return in the future!

Perfect House

What a beautiful house, we have just had the best family weekend staying at Oakland West. It was perfect, the house has everything you need and more, very spacious, you dont feel on top of each other the bedrooms are all a decent size and very well equipped, the beds are the most comfortable Ive ever slept in. the garden is gorgeous with beautiful views. Ross is amazing, very kind and responsive, we cant wait to go back I would highly recommend this house.

Oakland West birthday bash and new beginnings…

Ross and his team were absolutely superb in all ways, helpful, great communications and the property was everything it portrayed to be. A fantastic property for a group celebration, very well appointed with everything we needed. Would we recommend the house and the team behind it all.. a big YES from all of us. Thank you .

Lovely big house and garden

Great to have 6 en-suite bedrooms. The downstairs bathroom to bedroom 5 was a little awkward but they managed. Great dining kitchen and outdoor dining options for a party of 13 with two bbqs. Two dishwashers and fridges was brilliant. Great views. Not too far to walk into Windermere either. Good parking for our four cars too. Excellent customer service from Ross of Tarn and Fell escapes. And also two sitting rooms! Could not ask for a better house for our large family. The fire doors took some getting used to. We all loved the wool stair carpet too! Thankyou for a fantastic four night stay
