“The host was very responsive but I found it difficult to use the Expedia app to communicate. I would get a message from Expedia saying the host has responded and when I pressed see message there would not be a message at the site”

“My friend and I came up to see museums and two Broadway shows. This apartment was compact and just what we needed: two bedrooms, a shower and kitchen. The location in the Kips Bay/Murry Hill area is safe and full of families and young professionals. The apartment needs a new refrigerator handle and a paint touchup in the little sitting room. The video that shows you where the lock box is located was super helpful. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. We walked everywhere and……

“Safe, reliable, and clean!”

“Posizione dell'appartamento comodissima, spazioso e pulito. Ottima comunicazione con l'host, Gentilissimo. Check in e check out senza nessun problema.”

“L’emplacement du logement est top. Il est bien équipé en électroménager. Par contre le logement était moyennement propre à notre arrivée, les draps étaient tachés, les oreillers auraient mérités d’être lavés. Nous avons eu une mauvaise rencontre avec une blatte dans le logement. Souci qui a été signalé au propriétaire qui s’est dit désolé de ce problème inhabituel… J’estime que vu le prix de la nuit, nous pouvions attendre un niveau de qualité bien supérieur !!!”

“There was one major problem in one tremendous problem. It was terrible that the air conditioning was not turned on prior to us getting there, even though I told you that I would be there by 4:00 or even earlier to drop off the bags. Why wouldn't you have the place cool and ready for us on such a hot day? The tremendous problem was that we couldn't figure out how to enter the code to get in at 11:00 p.m., and you didn't answer the phone to help with that. We had to rely on calling every apartment……

“Central location with hot water, washer/dryer, space heater, dishwasher and plenty of kitchenware for a longer stay. Very lively neighbors on the weekend so get ready to party into the wee hours or bring ear plugs. A reliable place to stay in a fun, walkable area with lots of dining options. Uneven flooring and shower can make for a challenging terain for anyone with balance issues.”

“The apartment was in a wonderful and safe location. The host was extremely responsive.”

“Exactly as described. Great location.”

“Hiccup with check in and address given to us, but once we got past that we really enjoyed this place and the location is great.”

“Thank you for letting us use your place for Valentine’s Day weekend. The apartment was clean and had every amenity possible. When we’re in New York again I hope to stay here again.”

“**Public Service Announcement: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HOST**This was one of the most horrific rental experiences I have ever had.The problems started the moment we arrived. The apartment's doorknob was visibly broken. When I contacted the host through the VRBO messaging system, she immediately tried to move the conversation to WeChat, which was the first major red flag. She then sent me a separate text message from her personal phone requesting payment through Zelle, which is clearly against VRBO……

“We stayed at the apartment for 5 nights in February and could easily have stayed a month... The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and a very short walk from dozens of great restaurants and shops, as well as the subway. Considering that the apartment is only one flight up from a vibrant street and has lots of windows, we couldn't believe how quiet it was. The owner sent along really clear instructions in advance -- checking in and out couldn't have been easier. We would definitely stay here……
