"My family gathers from around the Country for a week each summer to vacation together. We chose our Lackawaxen house this year. The accommodations were perfect for our ‘gang’ of 11. We were close to the many Masthope offerings for every age and enjoyed the lovely, well appointed, 3-floor house.Communication with the hosts was excellent with any questions answered quickly and well. Our week was special, made so by the friendly staff, great accommodations and curious wildlife: no we didn’t feed them."

"Amazing multi-family summer vacation ! We swam and played by the lake, went down water slides and splashed at the pool, had frozen cocktails at the tiki bar, paddle boated and kayaked, rode ponies and made so many family memories. The house was perfectly equipped to house multiple families, was clean, had an arcade, sauna, playground, fire pit and lots of neighborhood deer friends as furry visitors. We had an excellent time and will be back to Masthope again ASAP! "

"The house was perfect for our family of 14. Our 6 little grandkids loved, loved, loved the upstairs room with the 6 twin beds; the adults loved having them safe and asleep upstairs while we played late night games downstairs where the living room comfortably accommodated all 8 adults. We have a billiards champ who thoroughly enjoyed the pool table. The upstairs game room gave the children a safe place to hang while the adults were busy preparing dinners. Between the large table and the stools at the island, we all had a place to sit and eat together. The bedrooms gave each pair of adults our own space. The beds were so comfy. With the 3 bathrooms, no one ever had to wait. The house was stocked perfectly with everything we needed. The 2 washers and 2 dryers came in very handy. And now for the outside! The multi-level deck with propane grill was perfect for casual seating and a place for all our coolers. The dock, patio and fire pit area by the water were amazing. We used the kayaks, the row boat, and the paddle boat. We brought our own paddle board and fishing rods. All of us loved our time at the dock! The house location, 2 doors from the beach, made it so easy to play at the beach. The pool complex up at the community center was wonderful! The tiki hut and restaurant served good food in a great environment. The hosts were so responsive and helpful without being intrusive. It was a great week for all of us and we look forward to repeating it many times again in the future!"

"Pros: This was the perfect house for our girl's weekend getaway. The house itself was newly renovated, clean and nicely decorated. Very comfortable sofa and well-stocked kitchen. We spent the first day at the Spa at Woodloch, came back to the cabin to freshen up and then had dinner at the Tree Restaurant. The following day we hiked Shohola Falls and Shuman Point Hiking Trail and did a little antiquing through the town of Hawley. We also had a tasty lunch at Paupack Watering Hole and dinner at The Overlook Restaurant.Cons: We arrived at night and the abandoned house/structure at the beginning of the driveway was quite a jump scare. The ph system for the water starting beeping in the middle of night (2AM), which caused a few friends to lose sleep on the first floor. We were able to reset the ph filter in the morning; it was located in the basement. The beds vary in comfort- some are very firm and some are very mushy. It was a bit of trial and error trying to figure out which bed we liked best. Overall, this house was GREAT. I would highly recommend the house and the owner is very responsive and accommodating. "

"We loved the house and the accommodations provided. The 3 bedrooms were more than enough for the 6 of us. The downstairs area was spacious and ideal for family activities.The location was not far away from any of the activities we went on. The lake was also beautiful and frozen, giving it a very picturesque feel.I personally enjoyed being so close to all the deer that wandered around. The host was also quick to respond to any queries.It was truly a relaxing weekend in a cozy home."
