Handy place to stay if you are exploring the area. The staff were really welcoming and we enjoyed our breakfast. Wooler is a really nice town as well.

Very clean. Room was small but adequate. Breakfast was very good and the cooked breakfast was freshly cooked and hot. Staff were very helpful and introduced old friends to me from many years ago.

Lovely rooms above a busy welcoming pub. There is no noise from downstairs, so had a lovely comfortable sleep. Staff friendly. Breakfast was good too.

Excellent value!
Highly recommend! If you're on a budget this accommodation can't be faulted. We stayed in a clean, comfortable and quiet room. Parking was available which was great. Would be happy staying here again.

Hotel in a quite village
A gem of a location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free parking behind the building. Food was very good and not expensive. Breakfast was excellent.

We were warmly welcomed by staff at the Black Bull and were impressed with the size and comfort of the room (14). The bar was busy with locals and tourists. No food is served on Wednesdays so we ate at The Milan which was excellent. Room was quiet despite the popular open mic night in the bar. Breakfast, served in a bright residents' only room on the first floor, was delicious and great for veggies and non veggies alike. Superb value for money and perfect for our overnight stop on the Sandstone Way.

Enjoyable Stay
Stayed for one night, the bar area was really busy when I arrived at around 1845hrs. Booking in was straightforward and the room was comfortable with an en-suite. The locals in the bar were very welcoming and friendly. I had a full breakfast, which was excellent, the staff were also very friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, the location is an excellent base for touring the area, and the price of rooms are good value.

If you are looking for the authentic English village experience this is perfect. Beautiful old hotel with a nice pub on the first floor. Friendly people, two more pubs on the same corner. There’s a really beautiful forest nearby for good walks , it’s about a 30 min drive to the coast (Holy Island, Bamburgh etc). was really really enjoyable.
