「Our experience was wonderful. We had almost no idea what to expect at Kamanuma - we just wanted to experience a traditional style Japanese Onsen and visit the beautiful Kiso valley. From the moment the chef/co-owner (brothers) picked us up at the train station, and all through the stay, the staff were very kind and helpful. "The onsens were dated and not well maintained, and the ground floor indoor bath was quite dark and I was almost tripped off at the stair. The entire hotel was very spacious and most areas were clean and nice. But somehow everything felt a bit lacking something compared to most of its peer hotels like the garden maintenance or the staff friendliness/enthusiasm. "
