Me and my husband recently stayed here. Only a short 10-15 minute walk to the centre, lots of places to dine, quiet and safe. Ascot house was warm, friendly staff, clean & the english breakfast was piping hot. Would highly recommend staying here. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a lovely heritage property located about a 15 minute walk to the centre of York. Staff were very welcoming and the room was spotless and comfortable. (If stairs are an issue for you, there can be many depending on your room floor - just two into the house) Breakfast was delicious and we also enjoyed the communal sitting room and the private parking. Overall, a lovely stay with great value.

Triple room was really spacious. Lovely beds and linen. Top of the house so we had to negotiate a steep narrow staircase. The breakfast was amazing. One of the best we have ever had. The host was lovely and helpful providing directions to our venue for the evening. Would stay again.

This B & B was a wonderful place to stay. It was a 20 minute walk to the historic center of York. The area was safe and the walk was easy. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection! Highly recommend!

Comfortable lodging

The manager (owner?) was lovely and gracious when we arrived. The hotel room met our needs and was comfortable. We enjoyed the antiques and old photos reflecting the age of the building. Breakfast was good with excellent service.

A nice stay and good value

Ascot House is lovely and walkable to the heart of York. The breakfast is abundant and convenient, and the beds are comfortable. However, the room was cramped for a family of four, as there was little space for luggage or to put things.
