A wonderful historic experience

Wonderful stay, great City location, friendly staff, lovely room, very tastefully laid out considering the period of the building. Stay here if you want to enjoy a historic experience. The bed was so comfy and the pillows were like sleeping on clouds. Lots of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits in the room, can't fault the stay, look forward to staying here again.

Historical Guy Fawkes hotel

Absolutely loved this hotel. The historical features were fascinating. I would come back and have already recommended it to others. So close to what I wanted to see in York.

Great find!

Quirky pub, lovely room, great staff and good food. We loved it! Staff happy for us to leave a bag for the day, while we looked around York, after checking out. Would def stay again.

A really great place. We had the top floor with the brass tub and windows looking right out at the cathedral. Very quirky decor and not at all suitable for those with mobility issues, but one of my all-time fave hotel rooms.

Came for the races, as two cold, basically just stayed for a room over our heads. Overall comfortable, But for the price I would expect breakfast to be included.

Great central location

Lovely room, beautifully decorated, all the little extras included (tea/coffee/shower gel/ironing board), amazing location for central York activities. It is a little noisy due to the pub beer garden & Minster bells but that was to be expected. For one night it was great & would definitely stay again. I think I’d want a quieter location for longer stays though to get some proper sleep.
