Had two lovely nights here and cannot fault the cleanliness or the friendly service. Breakfast was an added bonus and the location was superb - right in the heart of the market but so quiet. We could walk or bus / boat to anywhere we wanted easily. Highly recommend and would love to visit again one day.

Cherng Yuan Hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. The room was beautifully designed and lit, and was definitely a lot of bang for the buck. The desk staff were gracious and polite, and the complimentary breakfast and dining area (on the top floor!) were awesome. Lots of nice little amenities, and the location is perfect for enjoying Sun Moon Lake. There was a dial-your-own espresso machine in the dining room during breakfast - This may not seem like a big deal, but it was a welcomed change after several days of instant coffee packets and milk-heavy cappuccinos in a country that knows its tea, not its coffee. Highly recommended.

Hotel very good but a bit expensive

The hotel itself was very good. Great services, great look, room had everything fine, close to all the neighborhood, just a little hard to find, and in a cramp area. But I have only good words to say about the staff, the services, the room and the hotel by itself. It is just the area. It is pricy, for a bit nothing.

This hotel was very nice. Felt upscale inside the rooms, had a great view of Sun-moon lake, and about 1 block away from the night market. Was a great bargain for such a nice room, and the owners are very child-friendly. Good breakfast as well.

Older hotel with a nice view of the Sun Moon Lake and the harbour square, great host/ hostess. Breakfast is included and quite nice. Rooms are not refreshed every day. The hotel is right on one of the shopping/food stands streets and we really enjoyed it.
