"I stayed overnight with my wife and son. It was one of the best hotel experiences I have had in Taiwan. The room itself was adequate - clean, well equipped and comfortable. However, it is the public spaces and amenities which really shine in this hostel/hotel hybrid. The location is also very central to the Western District of Tainan. Overall, it was a great experience. "

"The room was upgraded to a gorgeous suite! Staff was wonderful and eager to please. We loved the lounge but wished there was more control over rowdy and noisy children who were highly disruptive. We’re staying at a Hyatt in Taipei now and there are frequent signs which prohibit children running, screaming or playing. "

"We had a very comfortable stay at the Shangri-La. The room was really spacious, and we had a terrific view. The front desk and concierge staff were very gracious and helpful. Also, we had New Year’s Eve dinner at the hotel’s Shanghai Pavilion at the top of the hotel. Our waiter (who I think is the manager) helped us make our selections, and it was fantastic! The hotel is also attached to an upscale department store which is fun to visit. It The hotel is also across the street from the local train station. You can take a fairly short ride to Kaohsiung, which is a cool harbor town and perfect for a day trip."

"Spacious room that is clean and modern. Toilet still maintains the old school granite top, but nonetheless clean. Offered 2 pcs of bread/pastry every evening for guests, while stock last. A nice gesture by hotel. Great that it located across Tainan train station, jus a few mins by foot."
