Impressed.

Great place to stay if getting the ferry from Dar Es Salaam and good space to explore from for a few days. Lovely room and reasonably priced. Non alcohol hotel which I think makes it a bit cheaper than others, which is great value.

The property is really beautiful and has a lovely restaurant on the second floor with a great view of the ocean. My only complaint is that they didn't have a beer/wine selection, but that was minor.

I loved the property. The staff was extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. The hotel was quaint and really quite nice, a typical boutique hotel. The room was clean, and the housekeeping staff made sure we had everything we needed.

We had a great stay at Mizingani. Only two nights, but we already want to come back. The staff was very hospitable, polite and service minded. Excellent breakfast. We loved our room. Great location.

Good stay at this hotel. The area is nice right on the water and the ambiance and rooms are nice. A few minor issues include the poor quality for breakfast and some minor housekeeping issues. My bathroom hose had a leak and flooded the entire bathroom. Overall it was an ok stay.

The building has an interesting history and is furnished and equipped in authentic detail. The location is easy walking distance from the Dar ferry; across the street is a fishermen's beach, which is also where many boat tours start. Food was good both in the main restaurant (overlooking the beach) and in the small coffee shop at street level.

This hotel is in an excellent location right across the street from the ocean and boardwalk. The room was very large (I upgraded) and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The only shortcomings were that the internet keep dropping in the room and the lighting in the room was very poor. That being said, I would start there again.

We liked the place. Room was great etc. The elevator is funky, requiring patrons to fully close cage door when exiting. If not done properly, others can't use. Otherwise, the place was great.

Good location but poor quality

The staff was nice but the place could use some work. No AC in room and while asked several times- they told me it was ok while it just circulated air. At one point I just decided to leave and only then was I told I could be given another room. By this time- bathroom was a sauna, very dusty and only air circulating was recycled. Would not recommend.

We have visited Zanzibar many times. This is the first time we stayed at this hotel and it will be the last. The staff are very friendly, but the service was very poor. I paid extra and reserved the presidential suite. After arriving to our room, I realized they had put us in a regular sea view room. When I asked about the suite, I was told it was undergoing some renovation. There was no offer to reimburse us for the incorrect room, nor any offer for any extra service. In fact, we even tried to get a later check out and we’re denied. Unfortunately they already had my money for suite thru Expedia…so beware when booking your room..!!
