Once upon a time this may have been a 4 star hotel. However poor maintenance and lack of attention to detail during cleaning significantly detract from the experience. A nicely designed room in a great location, very easy check in process and simple to use digital keys. However, chipped paint, broken lights and door handles, and a generally grotty feel. Not worth the price, would not stay here again.

Great location to see Amsrerdam

Staff is great. Breakfast is disappointing. Limited buffet annd menu and questionable food quality (particularly the fruit).

The room itself was beautiful. Loved the large windows that looked onto the canal and the large living room. However, we were there during a heat wave and it was awful being in a room with no air conditioning. We left the front windows open while we were in the apartment but couldn’t leave them open when we were out as there was no screens. This was a major draw back as it was quite unpleasant in the room during a heat wave. I also found areas of the room could have been cleaner. For example, the top of the clothing rank was very dusty and the top of the windows frames were very dusty as well. We also had to clean out the filter in the air conditioning unit when we got into the room as it was completely clogged with dust. The bathroom was fine but had a few issues with the toilet flush not being strong enough and the sink in the bathroom was so small it was hard to wash your face in. Also, we were always diligent about ensuring the door to the street was closed tightly (and there are signs to remind you of this) regardless we found that other guests did not close the door properly so it felt unsafe at times. As well, we stayed in the bottom apartment and you could hear everything from the apartment up above. This kept us up at night quite a few times. One thing we were really unhappy with was the fact that you have to check in at their other location and they refuse to pay for your cab to the building you’re staying in! Completely ridiculous.

Andaz Amsterdam was okay, but it would not be my first choice in Amsterdam. The hotel is convenient and the food was good, but the reception area is small and the modern design is not really my taste. The rooms are fine, but the beds were not very comfortable. There is no real spa, and the gym is too small for a hotel in this category. Overall, I would rate it closer to a 3-star hotel than a true 5-star hotel. I also think it is too expensive for what it offers.

Amazing location, hotel, amenities and staff!!! I spend my birthday in Amsterdam and they truest made me feel special!!!
