I didn’t use their breakfast buffet as the hotel was right next to the morning fish market. Updating to the experience of having to pay extra for “pay on the spot”. They had no room on Expedia at the time I booked so I chose single room option (12800yen). Few days prior to my arrival Expedia showed twin room option at 14716yen so when I checked in I was confident that I’ll have a room. For some reason they charged me 12500yen to upgrade to twin room (total amount 25300yen, instead of 14716yen) I paid as I was asked but thought it was bizarre and negotiated. They admitted their fault and changed my upgrade fee to 8,800yen. So, in total I paid 21300yen for what was advertised as 14716yen. Once again, I’ll repeat, don’t choose “pay on the spot” option or ask for an upgrade. I’d rather gone out for a nice meal… Thank you Mr Umezawa for trying to modify things but I’d rather share my honest experience. Hotel is clean, convenient and staff were kind. However if I had an option to come to Hakodate again, I’ll chose a different place to stay.

The hotel is in a great location for getting around and visiting all the attractions Hakodate has to offer. The lobby is open and welcoming, and the staff are wonderful. There is even a free coffee machine, and the matcha latte it makes is delicious and addictive. The onsen bath was perfect and offers a great view from the top floor! They also provide free ice pops and cream sticks near the entrance to the men’s and women’s onsen. As others have mentioned, the breakfast is excellent. My only complaint is the room. While not bad, the Double Room with a King bed felt run down and very “well used.” It was clean and tidy, but it has certainly seen better days. That said, I can overlook this because everything else about the hotel was fantastic. As for restaurants and dining options, right outside the main entrance there is a cluster of eateries offering a great variety of food, and they are not affiliated with the hotel.

Classy hotel with excellently furnished room that is spacious enough for three adults. Room is clean and well maintained. Staff is polite and helpful. The public bath is excellent and offers a great view of the harbourfront.

We are a family of 4 (husband, wife, 8 yr old boy and 1.5 yr old boy). We stayed in this property for 4 days and 3 nights. The property is in excellent condition and very clean (tiptop clean). It is a seaside property and the view of both the city and the sea is spectacular. Although there are only 4 of us, it can accomodate up to 7 people. It has 2 queen beds and 3 twins which is ideal for a big family. The parking accross the road can accomodate 3 big cars or vans. We rented a car on the entire duration of our stay. Driving is preferred because we don't know how to get around. They also have taxi or uber in the area if you prefer not to drive. I don't know about the bus. It looks like a long walk to the bus stop. All the attractions and restaurants are close by (driving). I would love to just stay in the place and just relax but we only have limited time to visit the city. Sunset and night lights are beautiful. The check in and check out process is also easy and straight forward. There are rules that are typical to Japanese hotel/household which is easy to follow. Only drawback is we should have stayed 1 more day to just enjoy the house. Thanks Nesaki Native. We will definitely go back! PS: We only used 1 bed because the floor is so clean that my boys opted to just sleep in the floor mats with blankets.

For the price I paid is a steal with Onsen. Breakfast was fabulous with lot of variety.

Very nice location and amenities

Everything was good during the stay except that it’s a bit far from JR Station, and the bus service wasn’t that frequent for getting around.
