Zittau Mountains Cheap Holidays

The Line is a new wave hipster hotel, relatively recent construction using the bare cement decor reminiscent of low security prisons. Desk staff and valets were incredibly helpful - as they should have been for a $65/day parking fee and an undisclosed (until checkout) "amenity fee" of $38 per day, altogether adding more than $300 to a 3-day stay at an already healthy day rate of about $240. The only scrap of floor space not filled with our king sized bed and attached useless desk was occupied by two low chairs and a.... thing... between them. It looked like small wooden blocks stacked on a crate. Maybe it was bad sculpture. I would have guessed coffee table, except you'd have to balance your coffee on top of one of the stacks of blocks. The cool motorized curtains did block the light, until they started going up and down on their own at random times including at 3am, waking us up, and at 8am when we were still in bed. TThey did seem to be fixed after some intervention from the staff.Party noise went late on the Friday and Saturday nights we were there. Next time I'lll try the Normandie next door.

The staff was super nice. The hotel was clean and remodeled. A great hotel. I would definitely recommend
