“This hotel is in the middle of major renovation, and in summer 2024 the entire area around this interstate exit is under development, so there is a lot of that traffic and noise. The front walkway was getting all new concrete done. The room was totally cleaned and bedding as expected, though the bathtub needed some minor repairs. I think Southern Illinois is wonderful, I left this particular reservation early because I didn't feel safe with some of the activity I encountered nearby.”

“We had a fabulous time staying at Wonderlust! The only complaint is that the listing states there are 4 bedrooms and that simply isn’t true. One of the “bedrooms” is the dining room and an other is the living room. There are 2 real bedrooms, and the rest is shared space that doubles as sleeping quarters if need be. The dining room would have been nearly impossible to use as a sleeping quarter considering some of us stayed up late playing games every night. Thankfully we didn’t need the bed in……

“This cabin is adorable and had all the amenities of home. It was very clean and the property itself was beautiful. It was very quiet, and was perfect for a small family. We opted to sleep on the pullout couch as the loft beds required climbing a steep ladder. This wouldn't be practical trying to get to bathroom at night. Please know the cabin is located next to another home, but we never saw anyone at that home while we were there. It is a very remote location if you want seclusion.”

“This property is in a quiet, secluded area with plenty of property to explore and enjoy family time. The house is perfectly appointed, very clean and has rustic charm with all the modern amenities. The coffee nook was a nice touch as well. The location is in the middle of all the activities we participated in, hiking, zip lining, swimming, antique shopping and wine tasting. I recommend this house and location for a trip to southern Illinois.”
