Upon return to our room after dinner, there was a terrible smell in the bathroom (as the extractor was blowing air in!), however Darrell noted the issue carefully for their maintenance team and moved us to another room immediately. "This was our second stay at The Cumberland, excellent as before! We book a family room number 7, it’s very quiet with a rear view over the town, spacious, light and very cosy. I normally don’t pay a particular attention to toiletries but they are so good at The Cumberland so I had to google and order for my home. Hosts are wonderful, breakfast yummy and central location. They provide parking permit if you can find a spot near the hotel. We’ll be back!"

"This was a great place to stay to look around Portland. Easy bus access, beautiful walks. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was brilliant. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful.
