Edinburgh Pet-friendly Hotel

"The location was convenient to the train station, restaurants, and sights like the Edinburgh castle. It requires a climb to get up to the Royal Mile, however. We did not do breakfast there because we were told it was 30 pounds/person. From what I saw, it was a standard hotel breakfast but even if it were a cut above, that is too pricey, especially when there are lots of good coffee shops in the area. The lobby area is nice and they will check your baggage in a secure area if you arrive too...

"The courtyard area is lovely. However they play canned music out there much of the day, so if your room faces the courtyard, as ours did, then you can hear it. I did not notice any soundproofing inside the hotel either (ie, hallway noise and noise from the floor above). The restaurant is lovely, great breakfast and nice bar upstairs. Outstanding location!"

"The staff are very friendly. The rooms are airy and large. The shower is a bit of a mission to get into. The paint on the cupboard and side table is chipped and needs to be touched up. Windows open to allow fresh air as the room gets stuffy when the heaters are on. Breakfast is served quickly and the breakfast room is nicely laid out. Location is great to walk around Edinburgh."

"Hotel was clean and staff very pleasant. Made to feel welcome and given good info at check-in about meal options. Room had some balloons and banners put up for my wife as it was her birthday which was a nice touch. Used the leisure facilities and spa which were both very good. Nice walk down to Portobello beach too and Fort Kinnaird shopping not too far away for cinema & restaurants"

"The staff were excellent - really helpful, friendly and efficient. Our room was spotlessly clean, the accoutrements were replenished every day and the amenities were modern. Breakfast was a well presented, well organised event every morning - hot fresh tasty food, plenty of fruit and pastries, and juices/hot drinks. The only slightly annoying thing was the main elevator seemed to be in favour of the upper floors, not the ground floor, but there was a second lift around the corner so it was no...
