"Good hotel in Urumqi. Not walking distance from Urumqi Train Station, but a short taxi ride distance approx. 3-4km. And short roughly 20 min taxi to airport. 2 out of 3 staff provided excellent customer service as follows. Arrived early on Saturday morning and the male staff checked the weather forecast and even used his mobile phone to check DiDi (China version of Uber) fare to the airport from the hotel for me. He told me that the hotel staff can book the DiDi or taxi for me tomorrow ie Sunday...

"It’s supposed to be the nicest hotel in Urumqi - and it is in terms of the physical property itself. Nice clean and well maintained decor. Location is not bad. However, a few things that are not fitted for a hotel of it’s status: 1. The concierge is located at the ground floor entrance and not at the upper floor lobby next to the reception. "We asked for three beds and was given a very large room with 3 beds. Room was clean and the security guards at the metal detector were so eager to help me on looking for the bus route to the museums and parks I wanted to go.
