“Very comfy and relaxing”

“2nd time staying, and very much enjoyed it. Biggest complaint was the humidity in the room. Made things slippery and damp. Water pressure was great, pool was wonderful, hot tub was nice, roses beautiful, lots of parking, great sound proofing, plenty of pillows. Friendly staff, nice breakfast, great location!”

“Our cottage was listed as having a bay view, and we paid over $300/night for this view. The cottage was on a narrow (not super clean looking) man-made canal, with a parking lot to a hotel on the other side of the canal. The canal is wider than a ditch but very narrow. Very technically speaking, you can see the natural body of water (referred to as the bay) if you look through the landscape and other buildings between our cottage and the water, but the view was not in any reasonable way a bay……

“The room was spacious for three people although we could have used more towels. Pool was smaller than the picture suggested, water was cloudy, and chlorine very high. Good variety at breakfast. Would stay again.”

“This property is centrally located along Maddox Blvd in beautiful Chincoteague. Easily in walking distance are shops and a tremendous ice cream and coffee shop, Mister Whippy. The rooms are clean, just a little outdated, but the staff informed us a refresh is coming. Definitely a nice place to stay for the weekend.”

“This was an incredible stay! The owner Noel was absolutely amazing! The property was meticulous! The breakfast had many different choice and was fully stocked. The pool was clean and very nice to swim in. There was an ice machine and guests are allowed to fill their coolers. The bathroom door had a full length mirror which was very nice too. The shower pressure was perfect as it felt like I was at a spa! I cannot say enough about this place! This property is a hidden gem that I recommend to……

“cannot believe the good reviews this place has on Expedia. It is inhabitable. I checked in via phone call, as the front office says "open" but nobody was on the premises--ever. When I walked into my room, which also happened to be an adjoining room to someone unknown, it smelled immediately of must and mold. After about an hour my throat started swelling because I'm allergic to mold. There is a lack of safety as there is no safety lock either on the outside door or the adjoining room door (owner……

“We had a great stay! Loved our rooftop cottage - we had a great view of the water and loved the kitchenette to be able to make our own meals. Check in was super easy and the store at the welcome center was really convenient for items we needed. We'll definitely be back!”

“We loved sitting on our balcony overlooking the channel. It was a beautiful and serene view. The resort is in a great location on Chincoteague. I would certainly stay there again.”

“We had a lovely, large room with a very comfortable bed, small table for breakfast, excellent coffee available just outside the lobby, and a nice balcony. The pool was lovely and there were lounge chairs and towels, as well as a shower to rinse off in before swimming. In addition, having the proximity to the Chincoteague National Refuge and easy driving to local restaurants and downtown were pluses. The Refuge Inn has a small-town, family feeling with all the amenities you could ask for.”

“This is our second time staying at The Charlotte Hotel. The rooms have a nice traditional feel. Quiet location yet right in town with an easy walk to restaurants (including the new Bread & Butter), shops, and the waterfront. On street parking is plentiful and we've been able to park right in front of the hotel each August stay. Onancock is a peaceful place to stay on the Chesapeake Bay. A great value...we would 100% stay here again.”
