「Pub and Barn were lovely. We had a barn room and it was small but beautifully appointed. The coffee machine was a real bonus as was the homemade shortbread. The velux window was a bit of a challenge to open and close. Breakfast was very nice with really friendly helpful staff, checkout was also friendly and straightforward. This was in contrast to check in, (e.g. we were told they didn't want us mithering the cleaning staff, as if we would) lunch and evening meal. The food was nice enough but...

「The establishment is a carvery that does sunday roasts from Thursday to Sunday. I did not check this detail ahead of time and missed this detail. However the establishment is not too far from nearby cities that had amble dining options, but missing out on the roast experience was definitely regrettable. 「The stag were extremely welcoming, warm and friendly. The room was a very good size with a modern en-suite bathroom. The evening meal menu had a varied selection for all tastes and the quality of food was excellent, being very well cooked and presented. Breakfast was high quality local produce with a large serving. 「Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!」

「Mainly pleasant stay except for the miniscule shower room with no hand soap provided and only cold or lukewarm water from the shower. I asked the staff to look at the shower but they were unable to resolve this issue. Not fun for a whole week.」
