This is a beautiful historic mansion in a safe and convenient location. From previous reviews, I mistakenly thought it was more of a bed and breakfast, as I had read what a magnificent breakfast they served. It was a big reason I chose this accommodation. The breakfast is similar to what you might expect at a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. That said, the room was beautiful, spotless, and well-appointed and the owner was absolutely lovely and helpful and genuinely interested in his guests.

Im a tough customer, there was absolutely nothing wrong with this place! Had an amazing room, no detail left unattended. Sheets like velvet, climate control and a view to remember. There was a wonderful breakfast in the mornings that they served late, so I got to sleep in every day! A beautiful old mansion, the Lookaway offers a deep dive into the southern experience, John the host was what I wish all hosts could be. This place should be filled to the brim every day! Thanks to the staff and their devotion to this one-of-a-kind B&B!

Excellent location with lots of dining opportunities nearby...although I didn't have time to stay for breakfast, it sounded great from the host's description & the dining room was incredible. Parking was easy and check in really quick. I will visit again later when I have more time to spend. Thanks.

I would give a five star rating if only we could control the temperature in our freezing cold room. The owner told us the control for the air conditioning was in the room next door. He gave us access to a key for the room but we couldn’t unlock the door. The owner was a really personable guy so good to talk to. Breakfast was cooked to order which was very nice
