「Great location and friendly staff」

「The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night, and it was clean and comfortable (and the view of the hills was lovely). There was a large fan provided, which was very welcome given the heatwave that was taking place that week, We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. A perfect place for an overnight in the Lakes.」

「Wonderfully authentic Lakeland Inn.Our stay was peaceful with so many opportunities for walks straight from the door.Limited options available for dinner, would have appreciated more choices.cooked breakfast was very good but some yoghurt, fruit would have been welcome.Selection of beers at the bar was very good.The staff work extremely hard but we thought an extra member of staff would have helped to reduce waiting times at dinner and breakfast」

「Parking space was a great plus. A nice old traditional pub with plenty tables outside. Bed comfortable enough for one night stay. Good, powerful shower. Delicious full english breakfast. Dining room was a little fusty and in need of a some TLC and the evening meal was a bit overpriced for what it was but still an overall charming stay in this gorgeous location. 」

「The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

「Very easy to find with a large car park at the back. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of drinks was great with it having its own distillery. The food was beautiful and freshly prepared. The room was just as you would expect and the bed was so comfortable! The set up overall was perfect. Would go back next time we’re there. There are also busses that run outside so no need to use your car.」
