「We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. 「The hotel is going through updating, the swimming pool was ok, the room was very dated, the bath panel was broken but all we wanted was a bed for 1 night. When we left one if the updated rooms was open and I must say they looked beautiful. When this hotel is finished I'm quite sure it will be of good standard.」

「The host was very kind and helpful. The room was small for three people, and hot. It was right on the road so we had to keep the window closed all night. Perhaps an upstairs room would be more comfortable. The stay was certainly fine, but quite simple/basic.」

「This is the best stay I have had away from home. The host was so welcoming, it was like visiting a close friend. Well taken care of. I was in Shrewbury for a Triathlon, and had to be taken to hospital. The host took in my bike from UK Triathlon who delivered it to help me. Breakfast was brililant. And the room was MASSIVE. 「Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. 「Welcoming owners Helen and Andy provide a warm, comfortable and luxurious B&B in the heart of lovely Eccleshall. Helen's artsy skill are shared in abundance, with every little detail attended to. Our room overlooked the beautiful garden at the back of the property, adjacent to private car parking, and a gentle stroll down to the town. We plan to stay again, truly a delightful experience.」

The service was excellent throughout — Alex and his team were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, which made a real difference to the experience. The food was another highlight, with excellent quality at both dinner and breakfast. The team also showed great flexibility in accommodating special requests, which was very much appreciated. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay that I would happily recommend.」
