The hotel buffet & breakfast are acceptable . The room with good sea view . But the light at the balcony seems very rusty .

I am not particular when it comes to hotel stay and this is the first time I ever rate a hotel due to ultimate disappointment
1 the whole floor is very wet unless aircon is set 21 or lower, due to humidity? Can't attach the photobut It looked like the floor was just mopped. It was so wet until we had to walk like skating on ice the shoke day, In the end we had to set the aircon to be very cold.
2 in room dining are limited and tasted bad.
3 the blanket cover is broken. The zipper is broken ooen. Lose threads.
1 stars are given to the friendly staffs.

Really liked the bedrooms and access to the beach. Staff were friendly although not always able to accommodate requests as the hotel was so busy.
The hotel was super busy over the holiday weekend and there simply are not enough facilities to accommodate. Breakfast areas were overflowing. No where to sit. Evening dining also overflowing and reservations not available until beyond 9:30pm. Staff very overwhelmed and quality of food poor. Pool area too small for number of guests.
Rooms very noisy - children running up and down corridors and screaming.
The beach and beach bar was the best place to be to gain some respite from the extremely busy and noisy hotel.
The access to the beach was great and the staff at the beach bar very friendly.
There is construction underway, although that was not a bother.
The spa facilities were really good and we very much enjoyed our treatments.
I expect this is a lovely place to stay on a non holiday weekend. However, it's unlikely we will return given our experience. While this hotel carries the Westin name, it was not the typical Westin experience.

The hotel is a peaceful spot compared to the Hard Rock Hotel nearby, it also has semi direct access to the beach (main hotel is separated from the beach by a quiet road). The beach was clean and well maintained. It is a red-flag beach - the water was choppy and there were signs up warning guests about jelly fish, so we just paddled in the water with our feet. This would be the case for any hotel on the Desaru coast. We checked in for 3 nights and they gave us 2 complementary passes to the waterpark attached to the Hard Rock Hotel, which was good, but considering we were a party of 3 (2 adults and a child), it would have been good if we didn't have to ask for the additional ticket at check-in (we were originally told we would have to pay for the 3rd ticket, but I did say our reservation was for 3 people and they kindly brought up the third ticket along with the bags). The hotel is undergoing renovation at the moment so not all their amenities/facilities were available (only 1 of their 3 pools were open). It would have been good to know this at the time of booking. Food was really overpriced and you are a captive audience as there is not much nearby to walk to (you can drive out to get some food), so thank goodness for Grab. A bug bear of mine was that we had to pay for parking (RM5 per day), guests should really be parking for free. The breakfast buffet is extensive and the food is good in general. Generally the staff are polite and courteous and it was a good few days break.
