The room was boiling hot when I arrived. I turned on the AC but it did nothing. I ended up opening all the windows and turning off the AC completely. By morning it was 19C in the room, but I had hardly slept. I left the windows open and put DND on the door so that the maid would not close the windows. ...

Haidian
Haidian is well liked for its museums and monuments. If you're hoping to get in some sightseeing, Spacious Pavilion and Summer Palace are top spots, and you can jump on the metro at Xibeiwang Station or Malianwa Station to get around.
