They then shipped it off to Monterey and San Francisco to build the city. Lime was the key ingredient used in cement. Beautiful view. Nice to stay in quaint older lodge. No contact checkin and checkout. The ocean view rooms were sold out, but they looked really nice with chairs outside to soak in the view. So I would try to book earlier and get one of those next time. Easy parking, Tasty blueberry bread, eggs and juice and coffee available for breakfast. A great stop between Pinnacles NP and Channel Islands if you are touring National Parks.

No staff..no cell service to contact anyone. Had to drive an hr north to get ahold of anyone to get directions on how to get in. The Expedia website did not properly display the property or lack of amenties. Not a good experience. The positive is the room was clean when we finally got in.

Room was clean, nice with more amenities than I thought, it was quiet and the checkin instructions arrived on time and were clear. The grounds are beautiful. It was wonderful to come after a long day of hiking and have an actually comfy clean bed. I was able to read and have some wine we had bought earlier to unwind and enjoy the evening. Wonderful place to stay

só vale a pena se você tiver realmente a necessidade de dormir no meio da estrada de big sur, e quiser acordar na frente de uma das vistas mais incríveis que você vai ver na sua vida. Mas o check-in é terrível. Não tem ninguém pra te ajudar e é um passo a passo rigoroso pra você conseguir fazer o check-in com Wi-Fi que eles te dão.

This place really holds a special significance for my partner and me, for a lot of different reasons. But recently, I unfortunately left my wedding ring there, and they were incredibly understanding and even went above and beyond to ship it right back to me safely. Because of this, I will always be deeply grateful for the kindness and flexibility they demonstrated.But besides that, it's also a beautiful view and the cottage are perfect and private

This was worth the drive. Amazing views and cute little cabins with contactless check in. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet. Be prepared to bring your own food, because the restaurant was lost to fire. The only drawbacks were that there were only two bath towels and the tiniest sliver of soap (with nowhere to put it in the shower). And the bed was only queen sized, for those of us who have gotten used to having more room. Overall, it was beautiful and peaceful. It felt like we were at the end of the Earth and it was awesome.

No TV is ok, but at least have a small refrigerator - it is especially necessary- especially given that the location is cut off from so many services by the landslide. The continental breakfast was a very frugal repast. Ocean view this time of year had to be imagined mostly due to the fog, but it is a lovely location. We are glad we took the trip, but were expecting 4 post beds and got a starter bed with no headboard. I would go back, but at 2/3 the price.

I was expecting a remote and simple living experience with pleasant coastal views. With the highway closed to traffic just two miles to the north and therefore no through traffic, it certainly was isolated. The cabin was well maintained and comfortable, but it is the views that sell the place. They are breathtaking.

Spectacular view

The lodge itself was not what I expected. For what I paid I expected a larger room with more amenities although everything in the room was clean and nice. It was unusual to have the microwave and breakfast bar outside in a little shed. With that said, I would come again because the view was absolutely SPECTACULAR!!!!!! my wife and I spent several hours outside just enjoying the view.

Great location, cozy, clean. The only drawback is having to drive at least 12 miles to get a meal, other than that, wonderful experience! Always wanted to go to Big Sur and i’m so glad we stayed at Lucia Lodge.
