“2nd time this year we have stopped here, the beds are super comfy, the rooms are clean, slightly old fashioned but in-keeping with the whole pub, a proper pub I may add.
The staff are fantastic and cant do enough, the breakfast quality & service are amazing, I have been in 5 star hotels and have a food that is no where near the quality of this.
On top of this there is free parking, which a massive plus in York as parking is very expensive and usually miles away from the hotel

“Egy napos kirándulást terveztünk Yorkban, ez a fogadó ideális szallas volt egy éjszakára. A parkolás nagyon jó, bent vagy szinte a központban , gyalog minden elérhető, a reggeli finom volt, a staff segítőkész és rendes. Ha legközelebb Yorkban járunk, náluk fogunk megszállni.”

“The property is very central and has easy access to the city centre. The room was spacious but the pub is quite loud at night and you could hear the music until past midnight. You were just given a key and shown where the room was and that was it. The room only had a bath and I wasn’t aware of that”

“The bed is too soft which we felt backpain all day. We have tried both breakfast and dinner inside the hotel, but the taste is not good as their description. Maybe it's not suitable for us only. ”

“Make sure to check in via the hotel entrance on Blake Street and not make the mistake of entering the restaurant (which is affiliated but not hotel management) - they tried to tell us the room wasn't ready and suggested we have some drinks in their venue (at our cost) until there room was ready and the 'reception queue' had died down. We ignored their offer and got checked in within 10 mins when we found the correct entrance. The hotel management should do themselves a favour and advise the……
