Historic harbour-bowl cottage with cosy log burner

Hope Cottage is a classic fisherman’s cottage built in the 1850s in the heart of Brixham, just minutes from the waters edge and situated in the highly sought-after harbour bowl. The cottage benefits from two living rooms to relax in after a long day exploring the beautiful town of Brixham. Hope Cottage also has a pretty outside courtyard with dining table and chairs as well as a newly installed log burner. Sleeps up to 6 people (maximum of 4 adults). Central Brixham location.

Greeting you at the door is a beautiful stable door - a popular feature in this part of Brixham. Once inside you’re greeted by a cosy living room (one of two inside the cottage) which includes a beautiful log burner for guests to enjoy over a glass of wine with your feet up. Next door is a second lounge area with seating for up to 6 people, TV and coffee table, with a stunning alcove area at the back which has a dining table and seating for 6 people.

The well-equipped galley kitchen has everything you need to prepare for your meals with family and friends.Brixham is also a food lovers' paradise, and you will be spoilt for choice for places to eat out from morning to night. Start your day off with a short saunter down to Brixham’s artisan quarter, “Middle Street”, brimming with independent coffee shops, artisan bakeries and cafés, then browse among the creative retailers including some of the town’s artists and photographers. For culinary enthusiasts, why not pick up some fresh fish straight off one of the local day boats to prepare back in the cottage and then enjoy an after-dinner drink in the courtyard garden which can be accessed from the kitchen.

Upstairs on the first floor are two bedrooms all of which have been lovingly restored, including the addition of some fabulous window shutters in every room and restoration to the original wooden floors. Stairs lead up to the top floor to the cottage which includes a recently installed modern bathroom and 3rd bedroom featuring twin beds. New carpets added to the cottage in September 2022 throughout the stairs and landing areas for additional comfort.

Hope Cottage is situated in the heart of Brixham and is close to all the town’s amenities and the very popular Middle Street. Hope Cottage makes a fantastic base for exploring Brixham and the South Devon coastline.
