We were travelling from Australia on the first leg of the nc 500. Beautiful village. Hotel very quiet generally but our room extremely quiet. Good comfortable bed. Adequate sized room. Staff friendly and helpful. Dinner enjoyable and big breakfast. Good sized car park. Lots of quiet areas to sit and relax. You may find the stairs a challenge with big suitcases. A very pleasant stay.

The Royal Marine Hotel was an excellent hotel, perfectly positioned for Brora Golf Club and the lovely coastline, which were a short walk away. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped. The hotel worked well for our dog too ... there was a charge for bringing him but he was well looked after and even received a package containing some treats! We were slightly disappointed by the food in the restaurant. It's not cheap and the choice was not as local as we had expected! My "Crispy salmon served with shrimp risotto" was not great. It wasn't "crispy" at all ... and the risotto was not the right texture or flavour. We wondered about the training of the staff too - they were all very pleasant but didn't seem that well organised. Perhaps we were unlucky with the timing of our visit.

One of our favorite places during our entire trip to Scotland. The amazing, kind, friendly staff is the biggest highlight. But everything else is a close second- the rooms were spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was wonderful (try the eggs Benedict), and the one block access to the golf course was wonderful!
