The house and yard helped us build fabulous family time. The lake location and boat dock made for such a fun time together. The house was spacious. The beds were comfortable. Some of the pillows were new and fluffy but others were very flat. The kitchen was well stocked, making it easy to share meals together. The TVs, games, and arcade games gave us plenty of entertainment. The A/C seemed to only have one available thermostat; the upstairs and downstairs temperatures varied by 10-15 degrees. Although the basement was freezing, we found extra blankets in the bedrooms and used the ceiling fans on the main level, so sleeping was still comfortable. There was even a high chair. One day got up to 90 degrees and the TREX was uncomfortably hot on the stairs. The house is 18 minutes from Food Lion, so it helped to think ahead. The beach and firepit area was great (though we did not get to use it much during our short stay, since it was raining & thunderstorming.) We loved the extra fridge in the garage. We had not planned to park cars in the garage, but signage told us that we could not park in the garage. That bothered one person, who wanted to pull up to unload groceries in the rain. The hot tub was nice (though we had to turn up the heat from 80 degrees, so it was not available when we were initially ready and then lightening prevented us from using it later. Eventually, a few of us enjoyed it the second day.) We did not have time to enjoy the screened in porch with plenty of seating; maybe next time we will!
The Vacasa customer service was soooo annoying because many of the texts we got seemed to be automated. I could not get the information I wanted. I got a (robot-generated) confirmation to my late checkout request -- but then was told the night before that I could not stay late. I talked to both a remote Vacasa person and a couple of local Vacasa employees. In the end, 30 minutes before checkout, we were told by text that we could stay 2 hours later. That really made our trip much easier & enjoyable.
