St. Thomas Cabes Point Hotels

"I recently stayed at Margaritaville Vacation Club – St. Thomas (May 19–20) with my husband, and the experience was mixed. We received a warm welcome, and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, featuring a king bed, sofa bed, kitchen, and nice bathroom. However, there is no housekeeping service, which may be inconvenient. The on-site beach was very disappointing—covered in seaweed/sargassum and unusable during our stay. Fortunately, nearby Coki Beach (a short walk) was beautiful, clean, and had great food. We enjoyed delicious jerk chicken and oxtails with generous portions. The resort layout is challenging, with rooms far from the entrance and set on hills. Golf carts are available, but wait times can be long, so expect a lot of walking. The infinity pool with a swim-up bar was a highlight, offering great views, though it requires climbing many stairs, which can feel unsafe after drinking. The on-site restaurant was underwhelming—subpar food, watered-down drinks, and weak coffee. Service from our waiter Chris was a bright spot. Note that an 18% gratuity is automatically added everywhere. The vacation club presentation was frustrating due to poor communication—no clear instructions, missing details, and issues booking promised perks like return transportation. Although a manager eventually resolved the taxi issue, the process was inconvenient. Overall, while there are positives, inconsistencies and lack of communication made the stay feel average."

"This is an amazing property! It was very clean and having 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was a nice amenity. Julia is a wonderful host and answers questions in a very timely manner. The location on the beach was perfect with very close proximity to the water, coffee shop, and restaurants. I would definitely stay at this location again."

"We were given a very nice condo with a very short walk to the beach. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant and beach bar being close was also very night. Overall it was well worth the money we paid. "

"We reserved the condo for 3 nights prior to a stay in St. John. Upon arrival, we received an email that the condo had been sold but that our stay would be unaffected, and to contact the new owners with any issues during our stay. As we had arrived a day late and at night, I was very nervous at that point (which is a massive understatement). Thankfully we were able to get in and all of the WiFi and door codes worked as promised. The condo was cute and very well stocked. Everything we needed for the beach, a well-stocked kitchen, and plenty of storage. The king bed was very comfortable, though my son was so-so on the sofa bed comfort level. But…it’s a sofa bed. Location right on sapphire beach can’t be beat with great amenities, and the condo was leas than a 5 minute drive from the red hook ferry. We had dinner at Sudi’s (walkable distance) both nights and the owner herself took care of us (highly recommended) with great food and fair prices. If I had any issue it’s that the front door to the condo is made of opaque glass, and at 6 am it is incredibly bright in there! The doors are standard in all the units, but a shade would be a nice addition. The new owner was very receptive when I reached out to her with a question, which I really appreciated as it was a unique situation with the sale of the condo apparently occurring midway through my stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. Lovely place on sapphire beach. "

"The text from host was extremely detailed. Made check in easy!! D22 is the unit we stayed in. The back window was held together with duct tape. The condo was nicely cooled before our arrival. Wonderful beach and nice the property next door had counter food service. "

"We were without power (at least 3-5 hrs on 3 days and one day was 18hrs) 4 out of 6 days. One small flashlight, NO generator. Very inconvenient when you can’t make meals (which is why I rented a place with a full kitchen) or do laundry. All I got from management was I’m sorry. The check in process was very odd. Random text messages for 2 different people (not explaining who they were until I asked) asking about our flight info. Jill met us at the property once we arrived and she was AWESOME!! "
