Beautiful house and amazing management

Our stay was amazing. Dawn from management standpoint and Alison everyday from a cleaning perspective were awesome! Everyone is so nice in Costa Rica! Will definitely look to stay at this house if we come back to Costa Rica!

Amazing property

We had a really wonderful stay at Casa Hermosa. The house was spotless, and had everything you need for a long stay. Beds were comfortable, pool and outside lounge area was large and relaxing. We were two families (5 kids 4 adults) and there was lots of space. Dawn was incredibly helpful, and was always available. She was a pleasure to deal with. Cafe Mar Azul was a great restaurant just down the road. The beach was a quick stroll away. Highly recommend!!

Magical stay at Casa Hermosa

We had a wonderful time at Casa Hermosa. Dawn and Victor were fantastic, and arranged everything from excursions to dinner reservations. Take Dan’s recommendations for everything, they were all spot on! Restaurants were an easy walk and cafe Mar Azul was the highlight. Would also recommend the coffee at Café Conta and the yoga with Liz. We got a wonderful dose of Pura Vida, and are trying to bring it back home with us so the memories stay forever.

Excellent accommodations in Playa Grande

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Hermosa. The house was large and clean. There were plenty of spaces to relax in the house as well as outside. Our daughters loved the pool. We enjoyed the large kitchen which was well stocked. One of the best perks of Casa Hermosa was the property manager, Victor, and his wife, Dawn. They are the owners of Cafe Mar Azul which is right down the road and it is an excellent spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Dawn was also helpful in arranging an excursion to Arenal which was a highlight of our trip. We are already looking forward to staying here again. We would highly recommend staying at this house.

Amazing - We will be back!

Pura Vida! Between the property, the pool, the neighborhood and of course Dawn - we absolutely loved Casa Hermosa and everything about it. We could be at the beach in less than a 5 min walk, we saw all kinds of birds, a few monkeys and ate at all of the restaurants in the community at least once. Playa Grande beach has the best sunsets, surfing, and is an easy boat ride into Tamarindo for shopping and exploring. The house was very clean, the services (cleaning, gardening, pool, and meal at the house) were top notch. We loved all of the people that helped make our trip filled with amazing food, culture, relationship building, and pure relaxation.

We loved Costa Rica, Playa Grande and Casa Hermosa

Casa Hermosa was a beautiful home with a great pool. The property was well-maintained by Victor, the property manager. He was terrific, arranging for our shuttles to and from the airport and also our excursions for zip lining and a boat tour through the rainforest river. When we wanted to go for the afternoon to Tamarindo he told us where to catch the water taxi that would take us there. We loved the neighborhood where the Casa Hermosa is located. There are restaurants and a small grocery within walking distance. And the beach across the street was fabulous and uncrowded! Casa Hermosa was a perfect location for the adults and kids alike!!

Beautiful vacation spot and house!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Hermosa. The house is great, very clean, comfortable and grand. Air conditioning was good, bathrooms are elegant and each room has big closets. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need, to cook in or just do snacks and breakfast. The closest large grocery store is about 5 miles. The pool is beautiful and the house is cleaned regularly. The beach is gorgeous, very quiet, surfers mostly. The path is about 100 ft from the house, and easy to walk to the ferry to Tamarindo if you want more shopping or beach action. Property manager Victor is friendly and helpful, and owns the Cafe Mar Azul down the road, a great place to eat. There are surf board lessons, bike rental nearby and a river boat cruise. Nice to not be in touristy Tamarindo. Driving on the roads is a bit slow so it is at least 2 - 3 hours drive from volcanoes, or rain forest. Victor can book day tours if you want.

Casa Hermosa was perfection!

My family of 5 stayed at Casa Hermosa recently and had the best week! Dawn, the property manager, was amazing throughout our stay. She contacted us in advance to ask if we needed groceries, excursions set up, etc, and then upon arrival, she made sure we had everything we needed for a great week. We arrived early and Dawn made sure we were taken care of until we could check-in to the house. The house was clean and well equipped - just needs a new coffee maker : ) During our stay, the house cleaners came twice to tidy up (even did our laundry), and the pool was tended to just about each morning. While we had asked for a few groceries, we ended up eating just about every meal next door at Cafe Mar Azul. Simply the best food and kindest people around! Dawn arranged two day trips for us and everything was seamless. Transportation picked us up/dropped us back at the house so we didn't have to worry about finding our way. Casa Hermosa was perfect and this area of Playa Grande is the best! We will be back soon!

Unfortunate issues at Casa Hermosa

We had to deal with some unfortunate issues while staying at Casa Hermosa in Playa Grande. 2 out of the 4 nights we were there, we had to deal with a warm living room due to a non functioning AC unit. The condition at check in could have been better. We found geckos on the wall of two of the bedrooms. We also found an incredibly foul odor in the main bathroom and discovered the toiled bowl and seat plastered with feces. I personally cleaned the toilet and then found I needed to also clean the pool of debris before we could use it. The house was very nice to hang out in while all the AC units were working. We were left a nice welcoming assortment of fruit, coffee, and other goodies upon arrival. The kitchen was well stocked. The property manager was helpful with local info and quick to respond to our questions. We loved the location! It was a very quick walk to the beach in a nice neighborhood.

Exactly as expected

This was our third stay in Palm Beach Estates in the last 6 years. We chose the house for its proximity to the beach access, as surfing is our primary activity. The house is large and fairly well equipped. We did not do a ton of cooking, but what we needed was there. Pool is freshwater and lovely and there is an outdoor shower. Two outdoor tables and 4 lounge chairs made sitting outside enjoyable. House is encased in gates and even has a "caged" patio that we hose cushions looked dirty and not very inviting. Beds were memory foam and comfortable. AC and fans are more than powerful enough to keep house comfortable. Amazing meals at El Huerto, Mar Azul, Pangas on the beach in Tamarindo and Coco Loco on Flamingo beach. We rent favorite boards from Frijoles but Dawn and Victor have some nice ones at Playa Grande Surf Camp as well. Dawn and Victor were amazing hosts and the neighborhood was wonderfully friendly. Perfect place for those who are looking for a quiet escape on a beautiful beach. It is the best place to learn to surf as beach is all sand and surf is usually tame.

Our family had a great nine day stay. Dawn her staff we very efficient and helpful. Transportation from airport was very smooth and seamless. House was an easy walk to beach and surf. It was a great place to relax even had monkeys visit. Beds were very comfortable with each room having its own bathroom. This is one of the best houses we’ve rented and already planning a return stay.

Clean and spacious!

Let me start by saying that Dawn was a hospitable and gracious host! She was exceptional in every way! I could go on and on. The home was clean and free from bugs. It was much nicer than we had anticipated. We were welcomed with chocolates and fresh fruit. The A/C was strong! My kids loved the pool and enjoyed seeing monkeys in nearby trees in the mornings. It was a couple minute walk to the beach. SO CLOSE! It’s a great surf spot that was more kid-friendly. The more intense surf spot was in front of Taco Star, which is a few minute drive from the house. The home is in a gated community and has a gate around it. Feels super safe and has an alarm system. It had way more room than we needed. Plenty of space to fit another family.

Playa Grande

We had a great family trip to beautiful Costa Rica. The house is large and comfortable with a wonderful pool to relax in and after spending the day at the beach. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful, and very safe. It’s just a short walk (maybe 3 minutes)to the beach and a great restaurant steps away from the house.. The property manager, Dawn, is amazing! She helped to arrange excursions, gave suggestions on where to go, and even had dinner delivered to us when we were all exhausted from a fun day of exploring. I don’t think this trip would have been as much fun if we did not have Dawn’s guidance. She also manages a surf camp and has surfboard rentals just a short walk from the house. It’s a great house and a great location!
