I’m not sure I can fully do this place justice in words, but I’ll give it a go. Hilmarton Manor is truly unbelievable—spacious, beautifully renovated, and full of character. The art and décor throughout the house are thoughtfully curated and make it a really interesting place to stay.The facilities are exceptional. Our group made great use of the gym and the private cinema—watching Arsenal lift the Premier League title in there was a definite highlight! There’s also an exceptional flower garden, which someone in our group described as something you’d expect to pay to see at a National Trust site. And that’s before even mentioning the swimming pond next to the sauna, which was a personal favourite of mine (this may have been influenced by the 30 degree weather we had!).As for the hosts, Gemma and David were simply fantastic—friendly, responsive, and always on hand to help with anything we needed… even the truly critical questions like “where are the skewers?”. I initially booked when the property had no reviews, but Gemma kindly gave me a full video tour beforehand, which was hugely appreciated and reassuring. She also recommended Chef Gary, who catered one evening for us—it was a really special experience.We had an amazing long weekend and made some fantastic memories. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hilmarton Manor to anyone.A big thank you to Gemma and David for such a memorable stay.
