Nearly all of them are built anew at the beginning of the tourist season and dismantled in April or May before the summer monsoon hits.   • I've always wanted to visit the beaches south of Palolem, and this time managed to see Patnem, Talpona and Galgibaga. This is at Patnem - as crowded and touristy as Palolem...just a little smaller. For a really beautiful quiet beach I would recommend Galgibaga, a few kilometres further south.

Palolem is a milder recreation of an east-meets-west Goan beach, with a rich variety of exotic food. Canacona is one part of Goa where hillocks jut out almost directly into the sea. Villages are tucked away in low-lying areas, which are carpeted by a sea of green-topped coconut trees.
