"This is an amazing house in a stunning setting overlooking Bantry Bay. It is a perfect house to relax in, and enjoy the surroundings. It is a bit out of the way, but for me that is perfect. The house is spotless, well equipped, with comfortable sofas and beds. It is in a great location for exploring The Sheepshead, The Mizen Head, The Bearra and Bantry Bay. A pet friendly house and garden."

"Nice big room but dated, still very clean. Beds were a bit soft, one in particular, would have been an excellent if these were more comfortable. Family room doubles as accessible room. Breakfast is excellent, really good quality food and the staff were very friendly and helpful."

The structure is amazing and the views are spectacular.Be prepared with all your provisions before you arrive and be prepared to climb some "delightfully precarious" stairs to the bedroom.This is a once in a lifetime vacation spot and we will always remember it fondly."

"Great place to be! The location is stunning especially the view on Dunmanus Bay provides a relaxing effect from the very first moment. The property provides private parking for at least 3 cars, a lawn and large terrace provide great outdoor space if the weather allows and the big amounts of plants all around in the fenced area brings nature even closer.The house is well equipped with fast internet, Sky-/ Irish TV, separate office / playing room, a very well equipped kitchen etc. etc. Our host Maire was always easy to reach and privided lots of information and tipps prior to our arrival.We enjoyed our stay very much! It was a great base for our several trips into West Cork's countryside, to its coasts and beaches, etc. At the same time it is a great place to be for a "break day" with its outdoor facilities, fast internet, Hifi, TV, DVDs, books ... and the possibility to do some laundry and proper cooking.Thank you, Maire, once againYoursThomas"
Mountain Retreat situated amongst the ruins of the old miners village

"This place was fantastic! The house itself was fabulous, the fireplace was a really lovely and romantic touch (great for honeymoon), and the surrounding ruins are really amazing to walk through, definitely check out the mountain mine shaft trail as well. The whole area is just stunning.The location is great too, just a very short ways into Allihies proper, which is a really charming village with great fish and chips and a couple really nice pubs. If you have to chance to listen to a live music night there I highly, highly recommend it. The museum is also a must see, especially since much of the history there happened on the property you’re staying on. Our host was also excellent! She was very accommodating of our arriving quite late into the evening, and had great recommendations. We absolutely loved our time here!"
